My only thought about the Tritter arc and the money was the legal expenses there -- I'm sure House blew through his allowance.
Cuddy's office... my memory isn't all that great. But, the furniture is different (actually, I was watching the Half-Wit repeat and I swear I saw one of Cuddy's office chairs at her house). The paint colors. Basically, I'm STILL looking at the one cap thinking, "wait, IS that Cuddy's office?" It's definitely got a warmer feel now.
The Vogler arc actually seemed to serve a purpose, testing the relationships AND having House actually see that despite his best efforts to keep people at a distance, he's still got people that will feel the wrath of the whatever (words are so failing at the moment). Tritter was a rehash of Vogler (and "Detox") -- and then nothing happened! Nothing really changed (well, there was all that blah blah, new guitar, no ducklings change thing) and the reactions, in the end, almost seemed like, "Oh, House, you silly guy, you! Can I offer you a Vicodin?" The show is all about House/Cuddy/Wilson (and some Chase), and I hate how things sort of drop. We don't get to see the repercussions of some things -- on the House/Cuddy end, I wanted to see them after House pushed Cuddy to tears in "Finding Judas," not to mention (and to a much lesser degree) what Cuddy's reaction was when she found out House faked brain cancer.
"Fetal Position" -- I love seeing the parallels of the whole practicing medicine thing between House and Cuddy, because I love seeing how huge House's influence is on her. And that she's the ultimate administrator who wants to be the rebel doctor that House is. It's very fun.
Yes, Cuddy getting even (in a more clever manner than declaring, "You owe me!" as fun as that is). And more reverse psychology. More rapid-fire snark. (Just more really) And yeah, season one Cuddy probably wouldn't have given House his carpet (or is parking space) back. Let's get some reciprocal manipulating going again in s4, please!
(Oh, and hi, they showed a teaser for s4 tonight. I don't think there was any Cuddy, but I wasn't paying attention at first.)
