Info about the Red Sox parade was just announced...
PARADE UPDATE: The Red Sox Championship parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Boylston and Kilmarnock streets near Fenway Park and end up on Cambridge Street past City Hall. Like the Patriots' Super Bowl parade, Sox players will be on duck boats. Police will be out in force to prevent dangerous or destructive behavior. For those who cannot attend the parade, club president Larry Lucchino said the Red Sox will conduct a trophy tour and hold rallies in all six New England states in the next few weeks. Menino expects the parade to be over by 1 or 1:30 p.m. Police will start to close roads along the route gradually early Saturday morning.
Can anyone tell me why they feel the need to start at 10am - why not noon? 10am just seems a bit early, considering how early people will want to get there.
