Okay. Mother Nature needs to make up her mind! The weather has been so schizo today. I walk out of my apartment and it is kinda nippy. After getting out of the Business building and walking over to Franklin St. Gym, it's snowing. I get out about an hour later and there is nothing. So bizarre.
Things are getting pretty busy school-wise. But what else is new? I'm doing service-learning again for my art education class. This time, it will be at Midlothian High School where I will be observing and assisting in (hopefully) photography classes. What is nice about this experience is that this can be future internship and student teaching opportunities.
So my goal to lose a couple more pounds so I can fit into my masquerade dress a little bit better by Feb. 16th (my birthday, fyi) isn't going so well. Before classes started, I exercised one hour a day. Maybe I'll try to get around to it. It's not that I procrastinate or anything, it's just that I get so busy and overwhelmed with things that I don't have the energy to exercise.
Last Saturday, I decided to have a little fun and go to Charlottesville to see
Synthetic Division at the Outback Lodge. It's amazing going to another goth club and seeing how vastly different it is. The music choice, the clothing, the way people act. There were a lot of Richmond faces to see Kyle perform on stage for the first time in years and see Shawn rawk out. I had no original intentions staying overnight, but it was like 2am when we got out and 4am after pancakes and such at IHOP. Shawn and Gwenn were really kind to let me stay at their home. A little back ground on them: Shawn is the author of My Pet Virus: A Story about a Rebel Without a Cure, an autobiographical story about Shawn becoming HIV-positive after a blood transfusion when he was 9 years old. Gwenn is HIV-negative. They got together to promote HIV/AIDS awareness and eventually married. These are the nicest people you will ever meet and I am greatful that they let me stay in their home while the snow fell. Kyle and I went to Brandon and Phil's on Sunday for a potluck, eating lamb, and watching Rome on HBO (that show is awesome!).
