Drinks

This is a work in progess.  I expect I will probably write a post while I'm at work and add it to the bottom of this one.  There are a lot of things I could write about, but for the moment I'm going to try not to get to deep... at least initially.  However there is pretty much only one thing on my mind at the moment and although I will attempt to stay away from it, it is sure to come into my posts a lot from now on, at least until I recover.

Anyway, the reason I started this post was I was going to ask those of you out there who know their alcohol to give me suggestions as to how to use my unbelievable stash up.  I wasn't the wisest when I bought some of my booze and some of it is rather cheap.  I've since realized that the expencive stuff is expencive for a reason.  However... that doesn't help me use up the cheap stuff! :-)

The rum is so nasty I'm tempted to just dump it out.  My mother bought it for me when I was sick with a cold and she doesn't know anything about liquers and so although I told her what to buy she decided it cost to much and I could cope with a 5th of the cheapo stuff.  Yuck-o-la!  Doesn't even make a decent pina colada! lol

Bought a red wine 2 or 3 weeks ago that said it was "sweeter than all the others" so since I don't like sour drinks and it was on sale, I bought it.  It isn't all that sweet, it actually has a sour undertone to it, along with a bottle of homemade cherry wine that my grandma had in her frigerator before she died, I've tried it but again, don't like the sour undertone.

Whenever I make wine, I almost never have that undertone so I am asking myself what in the world these people are doing to their wine to have this result!! lol.  I have my theories but really thats all they are.  They are 1) either putting to much yeast in their wine, or 2) not enough sugar.  Probably both.  However all theories aside I am still stuck with these two bottles of not so nice tasting wine! :-) Any suggestions as to what to do with them??

I also have a bottle of blackberry wine, but haven't opened it yet as it looked more costly and it was my grandma's.  The other bottle from grandma was already opened.

Tomas loves to tease me that I'm an alcoholic, but really I'm not.  I just like making drinks. I have thought of being a bartender other than I don't want to get "roughed up" or something from some guy.

Anyway...

drinks, wine, alcohol
