It seems that everything is against me lately. Before I get into my rant about work... is it just me or is Live Journal being retarded lately?
I've tried to post several times recently and every single time, it does not give me all of the posting tools. Merely the option to insert images and embed media. In other words I can only post in HTML mode anymore and I want to know why! I should be able to post in either HTML mode or in standard posting mode. (*scowls*) Which means I have no idea how to cut this... as I don't know the HTML to do so.
Whatever... anyway. Everyone gets to bitch at some point or another about their job... and this is my turn I guess. Specifically about my bosses boss. (The owner of the company I work for... who is held accountable to no one so he acts like a complete and total prick.)
Before truly getting into this, here is a cast of the characters.
Troy Owner of this pizza parlor and 6 others. Know it all asshole who is always wrong about everything he thinks he is right about. It's like having Coronal klink [Hogans Hero's] for my boss.)
David General manager of the pizza parlor. Has never been the manager of a business before. Was hired straight in as a manager. Tries his best but is young. (23yrs old) Generally works days during the week and takes weekends off.
Kathy Junior manager of the pizza Parlor. Has been there the longest of all the managers. Is nice enough, but has some issues. Generally works where-ever the other two don't work in both nights and days.
From here down, I'm equal to them, or they are below me.
Veronica Other dough person. (There are 2 people are trained to do my job, me and her, so if she calls in saying she can't work, I have to drop everything I am doing, or might be planning on doing, and go running into work to cover her ass.) She is about 35 and has 8 children, many of them by different men. All of them are getting child support which she of course takes.
Me Newest person on the totem pole of the job so everyone hits me up for covering their shifts. For example this last week I put in two doubles (14 hour days).
Adam Football fanatic. Same level employee/pay level as me. (17) Really like him. Would be friends with him outside of work because he is a good kid.
Mike Vol. Fireman for the town the parlor is located in. nice guy, but a horrible flirt. Never met such a dirty minded, flirtasious SOB in my whole life. And that is really saying something. However I would rather work with him and Adam than any of the other same level employee's that I have to endure. (36) Delivery Driver and kitchen staff, depending on which he is working that day, he is either equal to me, or below me in pay.
Skye Pretty girl, but ugly personality. Soon to be ex-employee, (18) absolute bitch. Has worked there the longest of anyone, and uses that along with her former status as a half manager to push people around. You can not trust her at all. Will stab you in the back at a moments notice and will do anything in her power to climb the ladder. Steps on anything and anyone to get where she wants to go.
Natasha Pretty girl, Good worker, nice personality but she hangs out with Skye. (18)
Ruth Very pretty girl, Good worker, sweet, gentle and kind personality. Formerly amish but she hangs out with Skye. (18) Used to do my job, but does not work it anymore so if necessary on weekends I could have her do my job. But most of the time, thats a negative.
[Skye, Ruth and Tasha make a tri-angle. All nice looking girls and they seem to feed off each other.]
Theresa Nice enough, but I don't like her. Complains, doesn't do her job and gets in my way. Delivery driver, pay is below me.
John Son to Theresa. Slow on the uptake, gets in the way, makes messes then expects someone else to clean them up. I think he is a few marbles short of a full set. (16)
Judy Grandmotherly type woman. Annoys the hell out of me. Has a speech impediment that makes it impossible to understand her so you just have to nod and smile like an idiot. Don't work with her very often and as far as I'm concerned she can stay the hell away from me.
Alright... now to dump. The owner of the place I work, lives in Fort Wayne (about an hour from where I work). He shows his stupid, ugly, disgusting head once a month or so to check up on how well the business is being run by the general manager that he hand picks. Generally speaking, as long as we have a forewarning that he is coming, it all turns out ok and he doesn't really yell at anyone seriously. However, he was not supposed to come yesterday, he was supposed to come today. He apparently decided that he needed to see just how well everything was being run... without warning us first or something because he came yesterday.
Again under normal circumstances this would have been fine, but I was not supposed to work yesterday... Veronica was. I got called into work in a state of semi-emergency because Veronica decided that she did not need to come into work and that I could cover her shift, but she did not TELL anyone that she was not coming into work. Then when David called her, she claimed she took her 14 yr old daughter to the hospital because she was in labor.
Now, I had just covered her shift[s] for 3 days prior to yesterday. And was beyond exhausted. I hit my bed so hard that I literally do not remember going to bed. Someone said I went to bed around 10... and I have figured out that I only remember in the 8 range. So thats two hours I was walking around like a zombie... :-P
But anyway that baby still hasn't come. This is the 1 week mark since she had her first set of Braxton Hicks contractions (fake contractions that a woman gets approximately 1 week-2 days prior to actual birthing pains)
I hate veronica... she has 8 children, pulls child support off all of the dads of the children... and then has this 14 yr old who is having a baby and letting the little kid KEEP it under the assumption that this 14 yr old will be able to get child support off the 16 yr old father (which for those of you not from IN, 16 is the age of consent which brings in the issue of statutory rape, and emancipated minor)... what the fucking hell.
Anyway the point is I had to cover her ass. So technically by all accounts it should have been HER ass getting roasted NOT mine when Troy showed his ugly head this time. But oh no, she has to call in sick so I take all the heat. I served a 5 hour shift yesterday... and 4 of those 5 hours was spent taking constant yelling from one Mr. Troy.
*angry look with arms folded* He tore me apart from how I had my hair fixed (braided pig-tails down the side of my face) to how I was dressed... to how I do my actual job. To how I don't get all of the (bull shit) he assigned me unexpectedly 2 weeks after I got hired, done in the time frame he expects. He gave me so much shit to do that if you divided it in half, and took only the new jobs... it would take 3 people to do it in the time he is asking me to get it done it. And everyone I work with, knows it. Thats why everyone there helps me with it all when troy isn't around
Veronica doesn't even TRY to do the bull shit. I at least try to get it done.
God I hate Troy Stanton... I wanna strangle him...
I always thought that David wasn't really a very good manager but I have recently been shown he is actually doing very well in the position that his wife has put him into.
Davids mother-in-law used to manager this store. She did so for approximately 2 yrs. Then her son Jaris managed it for about a year, and now David is doing so.
One of David's sister-in-laws (18) has worked for the company for a little over a year, and his mother-in-law (who everyone hates) has been trying to come back using her daughter as leverage.
David does not want Becky to come back, (nor does anyone else) so to prevent her from using Skye as leverage, he has "dissolved" Skye's job. So now she is quitting since she is getting a pay cut and will be on the same level as everyone else in the parlor except the managers.
The thought occurred to me that since he is doing this to one of his own family members-by-marriage, that this may cause some tension at home. However... perhaps he talked it over with Holly before dissolving Skye's job? I don't know. And it is none of my business. However I do know that this is such a soap opera I could sell it to the TV people and make a mint.
It gets so complicated when you have an entire family involved in the running of a business venture...
