this weekend was really fucking crazy.
me and a bunch of people at school had this gig at dartmouth with their orchestra. they don't have enough students to be in it, so they hire people to play for them. we had to go to a rehearsal on thursday night, friday night, saturday morning, and then a concert saturday night. well, first of all we went to go pick up the rental cars, which they covered, but we found out that WE had to put down the money for it and then they would reimburse us. so, i put $300 dollars down for one of the cars... we leave school and get to rehearsal three hours later cuz of traffic, 45 minutes late. oops. we then have to drive back to boston in the SNOW so it took 3 hours again. the next day we leave boston about 4, but friday afternoon traffic was bad and again we got there like 40 minutes late. whatever, it was fine. by the way, before this rehearsal i took out my violin and my bridge was leaning so far forward. it was COMPLETELY out of place, and it was like about to fall over. i moved it so it's ok, but it still really sucks, i need to get that looked at. after rehersal me, stephanie skor, paran, sharon, and marissa then went to a gas station to pick up bud light and blue moon. LOL. we get to our hotel (which they also paid for) and it's like this little house hotel you would see in psycho or like some horror movie, all in the woods and shit. anyways, we go to our room and are just chillin and having a couple of beers. until we had the bright idea to start a power hour. so, about half an hour later we're all feelin pretty good. i don't even remember how far into the hour we got. we definitely didn't finish because we kept getting sidetracked with our drunkeness. anyways, it was a lot of craziness, a LOT of talking... i definitely know a lot about those girls now. it's kinda cool. they really taught me a lot as well, that sounds so lame, but seriously i really learned how to be more like myself on this trip. i just realized i don't need to worry about stepping on other people's toes all the time and that i can be myself... we stayed up until 4:30 and then got up at like 8:00 to get to rehersal... that really sucked. we had all day at dartmouth...it's a really nice school. rich ivy league.... anyways, i spent a lot of the day napping in a student lounge. our concert was fun. not too long. the 15 year old playing the saint saens violin concerto was great. the conductor i think also must have a second job that involves interpretive dancing (this guy was probably one of the funniest things i have seen or will see in my entire life...like seriously). the whole orchestra experience was seriously something out of napoleon dynamite. the conductor was just sooo funny, but in a way where he would say something and like i would just be like what is going on....and the way he looked was very napoleon-ish. like, as in he looked like he belonged in the movie, not that he looked like napoleon. ANYWAYS. we drove back in about 2 hours, no traffic or snow... more talking with the girls. i seriously love them! we had such an amazing time! by the way i had to get up about 9 to return the rental car this morning. i had the back door open and i was like halfway in the car cleaning out trash when i hear something hit the car, i get out to find the corner of the car door bent up and a moron driving down the road. he didn't even stop!! i was like waving my arms at him like, what the hell and the fucking ass didn't even come back. what kind of idiot misses a HUGE car ( i forgot to mention we were like driving a BOAT...a ford expedition that was about a million times bigger than a regular car--i spent $80 dollars on gas!!!!) and the door was like clearly open. what an idiot! you have to be careful. i'm just thanking god that we got the freaking insurance on the car otherwise i would have been responsible and REALLLLLLY freakin mad. so, i have a $350 check for the gig, and like a $400 dollar charge on my credit card for the car stuff! but, no worries, dartmouth will pay up for the car stuff... or else!
anyways, this entry kinda sucks and doesn't sum up the weirdness and the fun-ness of this weekend. whatevs, take it or leave it! peace out.
