Sick kids, and Pup classes!

Well, the dreaded "stomach flu" invaded our household this week. Hopefully it will stop with only my poor, five year old son. He spent most of Sunday and half of Monday in the bathroom, poor little guy. Finally got him back on solid foods yesterday and back in school again today (rousing cheers). Luckily, his little sister shows now signs as of yet of getting it, and neither do my husband or I.

There is a new Tuesday night tradition in our household. My children are now huge fans of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and think the Fab Five are "all that". They informed my husband that he is in need of a makeover. It didn't sit very well with him.

My 4 year old daughter and I have also begun to be "ladies of leisure" on the non-Queereye-nights and we crawl in bed at 8pm and watch Style Court. On this show people bring in their friends and loved ones to a mock-court and they are "judged" as to whether they need a makeover or not. Stacie and I call these our "lady of leisure" evenings and Daddy spends the time fetching us (Stacie mainly) snacks (juice and cookies). Stacie is usually in the bed before me and I can hear her as I'm getting out of the shower shouting at the TV "You're guilty. Look at you're hair! Mommy, mommy, she soooooo needs a makeover." I think I've created a monster.

Monday night was the first night of Emma's handling classes. I haven't seen her since December. Every time I see her I can't believe that she came from my breeding. I'm so proud to have had a part (albeit a small part) in her being here. It's a difficult choice you make when you're looking for a male for your female. Trying to find what will "go" well with what you have. What is your bitch's weak points and finding a boy that will compliment her. I truly believed that I had found it in Dino, but what did I truly know? I had never done this before. Every time I see Emma or one of the other pups, I'm just so proud (yes, dammit, I'm proud of myself) that I chose him. He was the right choice and I don't think I could have made a better choice. They are truly spectacular pups. Of course every "mom" thinks their pups are the best, don't they?

BTW, here's a pic of Emma from Monday night. Not the best picture. I have her front legs set a bit too far front.

NO HER EYES DON'T REALLY GLOW

She's seven months old now, and in a bit of a leggy stage, but thats to be expected in a pup at some point. I'm amazed that her feathers are coming in already. Kali got her's much, much later. Emma's build is much better proportioned than Kali's and her coat is a thousand times nicer. I know, I know, I'm gushing. But, I'm just so happy with her.

Well, it's almost time for Style Court, so I must run!! Stacie's calling!
