HA! I'm back already. You know what THAT means... yup, Im bored. I have a modicum of work to do, but I am vigorously avoiding it. The last few days have been a lovely escape from the madness of fall semester. Mid semester break (ok, day, it's one day, but still...) was Friday and Dana and I resolved, with the whole empty weekend looming in front of us, that we should make plans for a fun and entertaining break. With that in mind, we proptly went to Barnes & Noble where I purchased the first season of Boston Legal, which we've only recently, in its third year, come to know and love. In two and a bit days we watched the whole thing. Yes, 17 episodes of fun and laughter spent in the relative quiet of a campus on holiday. Now, on Sunday evening I face the week ahead with peaceful mind and rested body.
It is vital you see, that I have these things. As a rule I always over extend myself in the fall and this year is no exception. In addition to my classes I have just signed on to play 2nd trumpet in the fall musical, Crazy For You. It's an excellent show but with only two weeks to prepare I have to spend all of my spare minutes pouring over the book. On top of that I face the pressure of internship application. My reume is strong but my cover letter needs work and on top of that, what if I just don't get called? What then? The stress is such that it even disturbed my sleep last night, an unpresidented occurance. NOTHING keeps me from my sleep. We lazy bums must have this at least to assure us of our place in the world. Anyhow, by Christmas hopefully I'll be engaged at some network in New York City and I can celebrate properly. For now, I worry.
There is nothing else of consequence really. I'm making another fabulous Sunday dinner even though I'm not sure if anybody will turn up, this being the tail end of a break and all. I hope they do - nobody should miss my steak & ale pie - it's a bloody british masterpiece. Anyhow, time to stir the beef. Toodle-pip and take the best care my darlings.
