Oh, my. What an unexpected portrait picture of Tobias Snape, one not only sympathetic but one showing a man who actually loved his son. The part about him realizing Snape would have to go off to boarding school was a heartbreaker.

Glad it struck a chord with you. I like a good bit of angstychildhood!Snape as much as anyone, but it's not the only possibility! My version of Tobias was horrified to 'lose' his son to boarding school because he wanted to keep the family together - something he didn't get as a child because of the war. Pure speculation on my part of course. But why not?

Hello you!
I've done Eileen's POV in a couple of longer fics now ("On the Brink" and its sequel which is in progress, working title "Over the Edge", as well as the angsty little one about Myrtle's death, "Moaning"), so I thought it was high time I let Tobias answer back.
And the short answer to why she left - because most fics mentioning Snape's childhood have his father leaving instead. I love to go against the grain!

So good. This was fantastic, though different of my usual portrayal of Tobias! I loved it, how it hit home so emotionally, how clearly it resounded in my own head and heart. I am honoured you added me! Well done!

I friended you as I saw lots of your lovely Snucius on Slither-In and then on your own page. I haven't had chance to read properly and leave comments yet though! (Will get round to it soon).
Glad you like my thoughts on Tobias, I get rather bored of him being portrayed a sadistic brute. Severus is so much more interesting if he turned bad for less cut-and-dried reasons.
