Oh my God!! *claps* I knew it, I bloody knew it all along XD It was so glaringly obvious! Peh, she's worrying about the fanfiction? She must've known that Grindeldore has been the hottest thng since DH except from AS/S. ^^
Finally though, Rowling came out and admited to one of her characters being gay. (Though she forgot to mention Remus, Lucius and Severus of course, but you can't have it all).
Hah, bet she's looking forward to it really! She's not got much to do now, after all! I am still so delighted that she did this, especially as there was really no reason to (unless you count annoying the bible-bashing Americans, which seems like a pretty good reason). x
holy hell did i love waking up to this this morning!!!!!!!!! the headline on yahoo of all places
:)
let's all take a moment to revel in jkr's brilliance....
and i knew it! i'm just shocked she actually said it. when i was reading #6, i was thinking that the fan fiction must have warped my perception of things given i was seeing ad/gg all over the place. this is so sweet!
so effing proud of her for being so flippin awesome~!
Ah, I am still grinning madly! Life is good. I was also convinced that AD was gay, but as you know, with my tastes running the way they do I wonder if I see slash in everything... I feel sorry for him now for so many reason, not least at having to read on all his choclate frog cards about his defeat of the man he loved. Talk about bittersweet.
I didn't see that coming! Am I blind? I think it's good that she didn't put it into the books though, it's sort of not really relevant to Harry's teenangst. I'm glad it was Grindelwald <3 Sort of adds more depth to Dumbledore as a person instead of a hero.
I thought it was just me looking at everyone through slashy eyes - also I never imagined she would actually admit one of her characters was gay, so it would just be a case of fanficcers speculating amongst themselves. (Hey, we're good at it!) I agree that it was absolutely perfect for it to have been Grindelwald. Knowing this adds so much more to the whole series - tragic past (like Harry), doomed love (like Snape), struggling with his responsibilities rather than his desires... In an odd way I am a bit more forgiving of the way he treated his "pawns", now we know how much he himself had to sacrifice for the legendary Greater Good. "The world is no divided into good people and Death Eaters." Truer than ever!
