Time for my annual "Winter, why hast thou forsaken me?" post
Well, it has been a VERY LONG time since I have posted anything here. But as a 90's grunge god once said, "Eeeeehhh aye aiiii iiii ooohhhhh, I'm still alive," though you may not believe it.
The winter has come and gone, and that makes me a very sad girl. All too soon I'll have to battle with the unending sun, heat, and HUMIDITY of doom that comes with a Japanese summer. Time for constant sweating, my underwear chafing me every which way to Sunday, and athlete's foot all over my body. TMI? Sorry, but it's the truth. It's absolute misery here in the summer, and I dread it so, so, SO much.
Liam has been on holiday in England for the past month, and mushy as this sounds, I have missed him terribly. The alone time has been nice, but I do miss him being around. He comes back in two days. :)
It's Golden Week (a week long holiday here,) but I spent the first two days of it battling a cold, no doubt given to me by some germy little booger-eater in one of my classes. I was so sick that I had to miss going to the Tokyo Gay Pride Parade, which I was really looking forward to. :( I went last year when Nicki was here, and it was so much fun. Despite my buddy Danilo's claims that "all the gayness will cure you!" I really couldn't go. I felt like shit. So no 80's singalongs with sexy Pokemon cosplayers for me this year. :( After two days of laying on the sofa, depleting my stock of American NyQuil, and watching random crap on Youtube, I'm starting to feel better.
Started a wee little container garden tonight. Mini radishes, basil, baby leaf lettuce, and cilantro. Every year I have high hopes of actually growing stuff I can eat, and every year I fail. Usually by completely forgetting to water the stuff... Maybe this is my lucky year, but I doubt it. Heh.
And... life goes on. Nothing especially exciting. Hopefully it won't be another 7 months before my next post. ;)
