Your descriptions of young Severus and his state of being are just heartbreakingly vivid, and the focus on them is a clue to your mystery character. I'm glad the two of them got to spend the day sharing good food and company. *sniffles*

So poignant. Excellent descriptions. And wonderful hints - the mentions of where the man had grown up, and something he knew about the boy's future. In my view, the story is perfect like this, with no explanations.

I followed your link and read about these murders. The apparent ease by which the murderers carried out their crimes made me shiver. I was ever so glad it turned out to be Harry.
