It's always interesting to see a wee slice of Severus' life before canon takes us along with Harry's. How calm he is to see Lily, here!

Oh, I love this little peek into his life and the encounter with Lily. The woman is a jerk, but he has a soft spot for her. I can imagine it must have been stressful living in fear knowing that people were hunting you, and in that, I can feel sympathy for her, but she's still a jerk.

The tension and awkwardness - and yet the pleasure - of the meeting make sense; I can see both of them reacting in this way. The dramatic irony of the last line is powerful.

This accidental meeting between Severus and Lily was so unexpected, but after she scowled at him and told him he needed to kill Voldemort... well, they handled that probably as well as they could under the circumstances.

Still I was glad he escorted Lily and Harry to the apparition point. I hope he will watch the "For Your Eyes Only" the Bond movie. It may give his mind enough of a rest to allow him to ease out of the shock I think he must have felt.
