I just got the shock of my life seeing the city I live in mentioned in someone else's fic! And as a place someone willingly moved to! I'm imagining him in some little cottage up Baildon way by the description and it suits him. I've been to that cathedral and I'm so glad you said charity shops and coffee shops- you've clearly been here once or twice. This is a fun fic with an amusing tone as well, nice and snarky just the way I like sev's pov. Nicely done!
I love that Severus gets to be happy... getting away from both MoldyShorts and the Twinkler is exactly what he needs. And it's easy to forget his Muggle upbringing. Living without magic isn't fatal.
Yes, I can imagine Severus managing to cope easier with the loss of his magic than others who may have not suffered as he had in childhood. So delighted to read a story where he feels comfortable and relaxed and happy. so good that Minerva feels relaxed visiting everus and enjoying long walks with him and especially remembering the anniversary together.
It's lovely to see how Severus can be happy to live without magic. I particularly love how you describe his new approach to teaching, and how he finds it both challenging and rewarding. That he's found a community and he is liked! Also that some people from his old life care and visit him and do what they think could help the newly squibbed godfather, or could give pleasure to this former colleague.
