I like that you begin and end the same way, but with far more satisfaction and comfort at the end. I can see Severus and Minerva competing with and comforting each other in this way; it really works for me. :D

Thanks this was great. I like how Severus was able to pass over his control to Minerva, then still get what he wished. The trust between those two is obvious and would be great to have another tale in future when it has Minerva as winner. I wonder if she would trust him on all levels too.

Very clever beginning and ending with the same words - and so much complicated psychology in the middle! Fascinating how their game has transfigured itself from a friendly competition with very pleasant stakes into also a kind of minor rebellion, a way of seizing control from "the Albuses and Voldemorts of the world."

This wasn't quite the same as being able to tell Albus or Voldemort to fuck off, but it was a power vastly satisfying in its own right. - Indeed.

Oh I love this! Sev and Min have such a good vibe/rivalry in canon and this takes it up to a 100! This showcases how well their personalities play off each other, and it's such a fun read. I like this particular moment for the setting, too - the flying car stunt is very funny and having the teachers' perspectives on it is great. I like the moments of tenderness between them interspersed with power plays and worries about the war. Very sweet fic. <3

Ah, it's fun and fascinating to approach that canon scene with Severus and to see the situation from his perspective. How clever (or I wasn't very clever:)): when Severus thought about the competition with Minerva, I could hardly guess for quite a while what it meant (and would have been taken totally unawares, if I hadn't seen the rating). So wonderful how the fear of Voldemort's return and the reluctance to serve him and Albus are woven in throughout. The sex scene (Minerva in it, in particular) is beautiful, and I love the use of those lines of poetry, too. Well done!
