Crazy House, a Flock Story

Jan 21, 2010 04:40

Authors Note-Okay well heres yet another flock story, which I somehow got brilliantly inspired to by one of my conversations with my co author, nadiabirdgirl. Don't ask me how this idea got into my head, because most of the time my imagination turns out weird things that don't make sense, but I make them work anyway. Besides, anything involving the flock is funny. :) This ones dedicated to nadiabirdgirl, because without you this story would have never existed.

Disclaimer-I do not own Maximum Ride or Harry Potter. They belong to James Patterson and JK Rowling. Lily, Thorn, and Misty belong to me, while the truly *unique* Nadia, Rose, and Harmony belong to my co author nadiabirdgirl. End of disclaimer. :P

Crazy House

Nadia was very deeply asleep, dreaming about her giant chocolate bunny minions, skipping through a field of chocolate flowers with them. It was a totally awsome dream, and she was perfectly content to stay that way forever.."Nadia..Nadia.." a voice called from behind her, and she turned around and screamed with delight. She ran as fast as she could, which didn't seem to be fast enough because it was like they were in slow motion like in those cheesy romance movies, but finally she tackled the giant Hershey bar and hugged it in a death grip, thinking not even the jaws of life could tear them apart.

"WHAP!" what felt like a giant marshmellow hit Nadia smack in the head, and she went flying off the bed, landing smack on her butt and blinking around confusedly.

Nadia didn't have to wait to long to figure out who had smacked her with the pillow, because she was tackled two minutes later by said people, or rather said mutant bird kids.

"Nadia! It's horrible! You have to come!" Harmony sobbed, tears streaming down her face. Rose was right beside her, crying her eyes out as well. "Whats going on you two?" Nadia asked calmly, trying to get both girls to talk to her, but all she got for her efforts were sobs. "Come on then." she said, and pulled the two sobbing girls up, dragging them up to the next, and highest floor of the house.

When the flock didn't stay at Hogwarts for the summer, they went here instead. It was a very big house, one that Dumbledore had left to Lily and Nadia in his will. Dumbledore had owned many properties, but this one he had left to them for a particular reason. He had known that Lily and Nadia at the time had no where to live but Hogwarts, and he had wanted them to have a home they could call there own, where they would never have to be called different because of their wings.

And this house certainly prevented that. It was a very large beach house, six floors total, and the island it sat on was completely empty of anyone except for them. This way they could fly, play, be themselves without being called different. The ocean was clear blue and sparkling so it was always fun to swim in, and Dumbledore had put a charm on the refrigerator and cupboards so they never ran out of food. It was summoned directly from the Hogwarts kitchens. The house itself was very roomy and spacious, just the way the flock liked it, because Dumbledore had also known none of them liked being in close, tight places.

And so each member of the flock had their own floor. Harmony was on the first floor, and she took great pleasure in being so close to everything important, meaning the kitchen, living room, game room, etc. Misty was on the second floor, and she had her own personal library in her room, which she spent majority of her time in..when she wasn't with Harmony that was. She had gotten the second floor mostly because she refused point black to be to far away from Harmony. Rose had the next floor, and her room was very pretty, filled with rose petals and candles, and she had a window seat where she could look at the great view of the ocean that she had.

Thorns rooms were on the fourth floor, and his were filled with a variety of things. Wizarding joke products, which he took great pleasure in using on them, honeydukes sweets that he always bought in a large quanity to bring to the house during the summer, and one room he had converted into his own personal gym. They had one of the first floor of course, but Thorn had insisted that he liked his own space so they said no more about it.

Nadia's rooms were on the fifth floor, and of course one of her rooms was filled pretty much top to bottom with honeydukes candy. The honeydukes staff had taken a great liking to Nadia, because she certainly was their best and most frequent customer. Every summer before they left for this house, Nadia went to honeydukes and bought out about half of the store. Needless to say, she was always welcomed back. In her bedroom she had a chocolate fountain, and pictures of many different kinds of sweets adorned her walls. Along with those she had a lot of pictures of the flock all along her walls. It was a very nice room, only bad in the fact that Rose and Harmony frequently stole from Nadia's sugar stash and went totally nuts when they ate any of it.

And the last floor was the one the trio traveled to next, and it was the highest floor in the house. Walking up the spiral staircase, the trio pushed the first door on the right open, walking into Lily's room. Lily had wanted the highest floor in the house, because she had always felt calmer closer to the sky. She had also requested that Nadia have the floors directly below her, because each of the flock had on other person who they felt truly at peace with, and for Lily that was Nadia. No one in the flock, especially having their own person that sought comfort with, denied her this.

Lily's room was hard to explain in one word. The walls were painted red, the color of her spirit bond stone, and if personalities had colors, her personality as well. The room was very spacious and airy like the rest of the house, but there was a very obvious difference, all you had to do was look up. The entire ceiling was bewitched to look like the Great Halls ceiling at Hogwarts. It changed to reflect Lily's mood, but ocasionly those around her. Whatever sky scene it depicted, it made Lily more comfortable to feel like she was closer to the sky.

To the right of the bed, two glass framed doors led out to a balcony, where a spectacular view of the ocean was available for all to see, and the waves were currently crashing against the sharp rocks, sending ocean spray into the air. Lily was often found sitting on the balcony, just watching the waves crash onto the shore. The pure sea air was some of the freshest you could breath, and all of the flock felt the affects of breathing better air.

The photo's that adorned the walls were all pictures of the flock, and just like Nadia's room, they were placed with great care. Lily treasured all the photos of the flock she had, because they were the only family she had left. She had no photos of her real parents, so any photo's she had were extremly important to her. The portraits were currently moving about, smiling and waving at them as they walked over to Lily's bed, where she was currently fast asleep, buried under her covers.

Lily's bed was surrounded by white netting, which contrasted very sharply with the red sheets, but not in a bad way. Nadia pushed the netting out of the way, and had trouble not laughing at the scene in front of her. Lily, true to her nature, was frowning in her sleep, clenching the sheets with her fist and fidgeting around, her hair splayed out like a wild mess in front of her.

"Lily wake up." Nadia said gently, trying to poke Lily awake. She had to be careful how she woke Lily up, because the last time she had she had gotten punched in the face. There was defenitely not going to be a repeat of that, no way. "Lily come on, wake up!" Nadia said more insistantly, and Lily groaned. "Unless somethings on fire I'm not getting out of this bed." Lily mumbled and turned over on her side, fully intending to go back to sleep.

"Lily it's horrible! Please!" Harmony begged, and something in her tone made Lily's eyes snap open. "This had better not be a joke Harm, or so help me I will make you Snape's apprentice for your seventh year." And as Lily pulled on her bathrobe, she saw Harmony turn white in complete horror.

"Come on! Hurry!" Harmony shouted, running ahead of them down the endless flights of stairs. "MISTY! THORN! GET YOUR BUTTS OUTSIDE NOW!" Harmony and Rose shouted together, and Lily shook her head in annoyence as Misty and Thorn joined them. "Okay seriously, what could be this bad?" Lily whispered to Nadia, who merely shook her head, which indicated to Lily that she had no idea.

Harmony busted through the front door and out onto the front lawn, Rose right behind her, and they promptly fell onto the ground and sobbed their hearts out. "Okay guys, seriously whats the.." Nadia never finished, because as soon as she saw the scene in front of her she collapsed onto the ground in horror. "OH MY GOD! THIS IS HORRIBLE!" Nadia shouted while Harmony and Misty cried, and the other three flock members could do nothing but stare, until Lily finally broke the silence.

"Oh of all the ridiculous..well I have to admit, this wasn't what I expected." Lily sighed and shook her head. A few feet away from them, a giant Hershey bar was laying on the ground, completely consumed by flame. The scent of burning chocolate lingered heavily in the air.

Lily rolled her eyes, replying only with, "I'll go get the fire extinguisher." and headed back into the house. They always kept it in an easy place to find, because for some reason they seemed to use it a lot more then most..
