A Christmas Like No Other! (A Flock Story)
(Merry Christmas-Happy Holidays everyone! Since it's that time of the year again, I thought writing a story about this time of year would be appropriate. Of course it's not just any story..it's a flock story! Possibly one of my favorite types of stories. :) Since I finished Reasons to Hate, I thought I would need to lighten the mood a bit after something so dark, and of course the perfect way to do that is a crazy flock of mutant bird, cat, and dog kids. Pretty normal huh? :) Anyway enjoy.)

Lily found herself up early and got up from her four poster bed, stretching her arms towards the ceiling and yawning. Padding over to the sink and mirror in her slippers, she looked in the mirror and sighed. Always the same bed head when she woke up. She always got terrible bed head, and no matter how much she atttacked it with her brush it refused to look neat. She had to much hair, and it was way to wavy besides that, and all of this annoyed her even more as she hopelessly attacked her hair with her brush.
Finally giving up on the hair issue, Lily washed her face and brushed her teeth, throwing on her school uniform and cloak. She didn't care that today was saturday, she liked to stay in uniform. Checking her watch, Lily saw that she and Nadia were going to be late for breakfast if they didn't get to the Great Hall soon.
"Nadia! Wake up!" Lily marched over to her friends bed, shaking her shoulders to wake her up. Nothing whatsoever, not even a twitch indicated that Nadia was awake. "We don't have time for this Nadia! Seriously!" She swore that Nadia could probubly sleep through anything, possibly even the world ending. Nadia was hard to wake up, and even when she woke up she was extremely cranky.
Marching over to her own bed, Lily took a pillow in hand and threw it across the room as hard as she could. There was a loud, "WHAP!" as it hit Nadia directly on her head, and Nadia shot up so fast it was as if she'd been shocked. Nadia turned around and glared at her, mutturing something under her breath as she went over to the sink and mirror. "It was time to wake up sleepyhead!" Lily smirked while Nadia shot her another glare as she brushed her teeth, then pulled on her robes.
She and Nadia were both ready to go, and as soon as Nadia opened the door she was tackled by four very excited mutant bird, cat, dog kids. "It's christmas! It's christmas!" Rose sang, hugging Nadia whom she had knocked to the floor. "I can't believe it's finally christmas!" Harmony squeaked, hopping up and down with excitment. Thorn just stood there with a half smile on his face, being Thorn, while Misty pulled a very excited Rose off of Nadia. Lily helped Nadia up as she said, "Okay, so first I get hit in the head with a pillow while I'm sleeping, then I get tackled by a very excited cat hybrid. When will it ever end?" Nadia sighed, but allowed herself to be pulled up anyway. "It doesn't, thats what being a co leader of these weirdo's implies." Lily grinned, while the weirdo's in question all smirked in response.
"I want to open presents!" Rose and Harmony both shouted at the same time, and Nadia smiled at both of them, so apparently she was in a better mood. "Why don't we go open presents downstairs?" Nadia suggested. "Yeah, sincee we're already way late for breakfast I can call a house elf." Harmony looked disaproving of the idea, mostly because she was a member of SPEW, but she was dragged down the dormitory stairs by a screaming Rose with Misty and Thorn following close behind. "You know this our first christmas together right? As a family?" Lily said to Nadia, who smiled knowingly, throwing her arm around her friends shoulder and saying, "Yeah we're just one big crazy family celebrating christmas!" But as they walked down the stairs togethe, both remebered how much trauma each of them had gone through to push them together as a family, and how that made them even more determined to have a great christmas.
"Ohmygoodness!"Rose's eyes widened as she saw the tall tree with all the Hufflepuff ornaments and yellow and black candy canes on it. What really caught her eye though was all the presents under it. "Go crazy guys, oh wait I should rephrase that. Go crazier I mean." Nadia smirked at them before the four youngest flock members dived into the pile, pulling out the presents with their names on them. "Here's one of of yours." Lily handed Nadia a gift with ninjas on the wrapping paper, making Nadia shreik with delight and tackle hug her.
"I know you like ninjas, so I thought you might like that." Lily smiled while Nadia tore at the wrapping paper. "OH MY GOD!!!!" Nadia screamed and tackle hugged Lily again, while the other flock members stared at Nadia's present in wonder and in some cases, terror. "I must be nuts getting this for you, but I couldn't resist." Lily shrugged. "Oh Lily, I LOVE IT!" Nadia sighed, hugging the GIANT hershey bar that was literally up to Nadia's waist, and Nadia was pretty tall. Lily had used the engorgio charm to make it bigger, and she knew that it would take Nadia atleast a few months to finish that candy bar. Not that her intentions for getting the present in the first place had been innocent though. Everytime Nadia was on a sugar high she managed to blow up a cauldron in potions, and of course that made Professor Snape very angry. Lily looked forward to seeing how many of Snape's cauldrons would explode this year.
"Here open yours!" Nadia shoved the present at Lily, who took it with a smile. Tearing at the wrapping paper, Lily lifted the presents out of the wrapping and her eyes widened as they did. Once the flock saw what was on the shirts, even though Lily tried to hide it, they erupted into laughter, rolling on the floor. Lily blushed and sent a glare Nadia's way, who was smirking at her. It was two shirts. One read, "Follow the leader." the other, "Kiss me, I'm the leader." Lily bit her tounge hard to keep from saying anything she would regret and said a curt, "Thank you." The follow the leader shirt was especially bad because Lily was so parranoid from years in a science lab that if someone was following her she'd probubly beat them up, thinking they were trying to kidnap her. As for the other one..well that one was self explanatory.
Nadia sighed, smiling at her. "Oh relax Lily, thats not your real present." Nadia handed her another gift, which turned out to be a sneakoscope. "Well thank merlin for that." Lily shook her head. "Hey Lily remeber when you said if I helped you with that thing awhile ago you would do anything I wanted?" Nadia grinned at her evilly. "Uh yeah.." Lily mutttured, not liking where this was going at all.
The doors to the Great Hall opened, and most heads turned as six people entered and headed towards the Hufflepuff table. It was a second before the room broke out in roars of laughter and giggles, and wolf whistling. Lily hurried as quickly as she could to the Hufflepuff table, Nadia at her side and the rest of the flock behind them. Lily pointedly ignored the boys blowing kisses and winking suggestively at her. "Remind me to kill you later." Lily glared fiercely at Nadia as Misty and Harmony smirked at eachother. "Sure whatever you say, leader." she whispered as she reached for a cup of pudding, smirking smugly to herself all the while.
