When your whole world has fallen apart, even the newest feelings can become a life line to keep you from falling with it. He could hear his own heartbeat reverberating in his ears, and hers thumping against his chest. He’d kissed a few girls before, but it had never been like this. Explosive. Like a supernova, he felt his emotions were imploding on themselves and erupting outward ten-fold.
Her fingers were laced around his tie, his were tangled in her hair. There was a gentle desperation echoing out of both of them as they clung to each other. Ron felt as if the world would come down around him if he let Luna go, and from the way her arms had slunk up to curl around him neck to tighten her grasp, he assumed she felt the same way.
It was several minutes before either of them made a move to pull away. Luna shifted first, moving her arms down from around his neck to graze over his shoulders and down his arms. Her grip tightened around his wrists as she turned her gaze to his, “Don’t leave me.”
Another supernova of emotions. Ron collected his scattered thoughts. His eyes gazed down at her grip on his wrists, sliding his arms deliberately back, taking her hands in his, “I’ll stay as long as you want me to.”
“Then, you’ll be staying for a long time to come.”
