Hello, LJ. I've been neglecting you so much lately... (@A@;) But not as much as I neglect my Dreamwidth and DeviantArt accounts. (>_>;)
I've been going back and forth to the hospital for X-rays and MRIs over the past month, but thankfully the doctors have ruled out drastic surgery on both legs. But I am to do exercises prescribed by my physical therapist for rehabilitating my knees. Standing and walking for very long still make my knees hurt but at least the pain is more tolerable now. (>_>')
☠☠☠Earlier I was looking through my planner from last year and found a few anecdotes I scribbled in it from my internship as a teacher aide for a Grade 1 class.
One of my tasks there was to make and check the seat work/test papers of my students... Being the teacher who wrote these tests, I obviously know the answers. However some of these children's answers were just too funny and it was kind of a pity that I had to mark them wrong. (The items were multiple choice questions and the correct answers are actually glaringly obvious...)
Here's some of the most memorable answers to the seat work on the /dr/, /gr-/ and /tr-/ consonant blends:
- My daddy will dress his car to bring me to school. (Pimp my ride...? The correct answer should be drive. (^^;;;))
- Optimus Prime transforms into a big trap. (... That would be a pretty cool idea... Too bad I have to mark your answer wrong because you encircled the wrong word...)
- The trumpeter blows his trap to make music. (Uhhh... It's just... wrong... for a first-grader... The answer should be trumpet... Not 'trap'...)
- Do you want to see a magic trash? (... I'm actually pretty curious about this... It's 'trash' but it's 'magic'...?)
- Do you want to see a magic trumpet? (OK, I considered this boy's answer. There is actually a trumpet solo called the "The Magic Trumpet".)
- Please pick up your truck and put it in the waste basket. (I would mark this item correct if my student was this guy:
One of my brothers came home earlier and told me that another one of my ex-summer class students had gone up to one of the teachers who supervised my internship and asked "When is Teacher J coming back to school"...?
