Wow... I had forgotten how much work packing is. I spent about six hours yesterday packing stuff up. Am still not done. The bulk of my time was spent moving stuff around and sorting things. Here's what I accomplished:
1. Completely cleaned out my desk.
2. Got a paper bag packed with all of my software. (A brown paper bag... sacrilege! Heck, the contents of that bag must retail for $5000, and I'm putting them in a paper bag??? Oh well, not like I actually paid that much. *loves the Company Store*)
3. Figured out what computer hardware and miscellaneous parts are going home this Sunday.
4. Got my closet almost completely cleaned out, with the exception of some clothes, and figured out exactly how much clothing I need to make it through the next 9 days. Going to have to do a couple loads of laundry... *sulks*
5. Packed three big boxes full and several smaller boxes, and have half of a big box free and one still empty. Good thing... I still have a lot of stuff to pack.
The Ubergeek (my desktop computer) is getting an overhaul this summer! New hard drive at the very least. And I'm going to work on building a home file server this summer as well, from my 7-year-old computer that is currently sitting under the kitchen table. And if I can manage to save up $400 between allowance and doing odd jobs this summer, and convince my parents that it's a good idea to let me add another $300 from my savings, I can upgrade the file server to a full-blown Windows XP Media Center. Hehe, and give the MC PC my desktop's Athlon XP 2800+ and heatsink and gig of memory and soundcard, and give the Ubergeek a brand-new Athlon XP 3000+ and a quieter heatsink and a gig or two of some sweet Corsair memory and a better soundcard. OH HELL YES. *geeks out*
