i need to interview a 70 or 80+ year old for an oral history for my history class. the class focuses on events happening in the united states from 1900 to present, so my oral history could cover war veterans (world war i, wwii, vietnam, korean war etc) or someone who lived through the depression or any other significant events in the last century. **if i could get my hands on someone who was a suffragist, that would really make my day.** i can even interview folks in another country, as long as it can loosely be tied to the US somehow. the important thing here is the taking of an oral history. also, one more thing, if i were to interview a war veteran i would not need to ask any questions about actually being in combat-- i know that is a sensitive subject for some. this is more of a social history class than a war history class.
anyway, unfortunately all my older family members are deceased-- my parents had kids quite late in life so i don't have any living grandparents, great aunts, etc to speak of. anyone have a friend or family member they could connect me to that i could interview for a couple hours? i could meet them in a place convenient to them or even do a phone or email interview if they have a great story but are far away.
the interview would need to take place in the next three weeks.
