run time: ?

So, after not being able to do any running for about 9 months (due to unexciting, yet painful, toe damage), I'm slowly getting back to where I was before the gap. I've never been a fast runner, or done any great distances either -- but last spring I was at a pretty good place, for me. Fortunately, due to the miracle of pilates, I don't think I've lost all that much muscle. This morning I hit the road and was total speed demon! Whoooosh!

With that boost of confidence, I'm kinda thinking about singing up for a 5K. Any of you guys run one of those? Any thoughts? Suggestions? Encouragement? (I'm still a little worried about being the last over the line.)
