Weekday dim sum is the best

Man's home from work today so we got up this morning and popped over to Flushing for awesome, yummy, discount (!) dim sum. I'm still totally full. Actually, I was totally full when the loh bak goh (turnip cake) came around but we ordered it anyway. It was just slightly crispy and (apparently) impossible to resist. Afterward, we cut over to the HK Supermarket for an enormous pile of veg and soy stuffs and rice to cook later on. This has been a really good Good Friday so far. Or, at least, a delicious one. Hope you're all enjoying your holidays, too!

Q: Has anyone cooked purple yams? I picked them up because purple vegetables are inherently exciting, but I'm not quite sure what to do with them.
