Eight Days of Happiness: 5

LOTS of things to be happy about today.

My Tai Chi class this morning was lovely, as always. It was a smallish class today: two newcomers, and two of us who still feel new and inexperienced - but when we two were asked to demonstrate Ta Chi to the others, as far as we’ve learnt, we got through it beautifully twice over.

I went for a walk.

My chiropractor was pleased with me.

Tarot Student 1 is doing VERY well. In this afternoon’s lesson I asked her to read with some specialised decks which are not easy to fit into the usual Rider-Waite interpretations; she had to do it on intuition, and she was spot-on.

Tarot Student 2 has dropped out of the live class due to logistical problems and will just work with the notes by correspondence. He’s doing well too, though Student 1 feels he’s missing out on a lot by not getting me in person as she is. However, as she is not an absolute beginner, the present set-up lets me forge ahead faster with her lessons and we have already agreed that we’ll continue right on with the advanced course and lessons in Qabala. (Magickal Qabala, not whatever that is they’re doing in Hollywood.) It’s possible to be an excellent Tarot reader without knowledge of QBL, but it does add an extra depth of understanding and is a fascinating study in its own right.

The prospect of advancing into these areas excites me! It’s a while since I did any Tarot teaching, and I’m restructuring my courses to integrate the extra experience and knowledge I’ve gained since then, using these classes as a basis.

I visited the Environment Centre and found that, as hoped, they still had copies of Thomas Zimmer’s Moon Calendar. I know it’s late in the year; I haven’t been into Murwillumbah very often this year, and then only hurriedly, so this was my first real opportunity to go to the Environment Centre. This Moon calendar is pretty special - very detailed, a large poster with all the dates in a big circle, well illustrated, all phases of the moon included, astrological and gardening information, and a touch of humour … no self-respecting Aussie witch and/or gardener can bear to be without it. Definitely "better late than never".

In this rented accommodation, we’re not allowed to stick posters up on the walls. On the way home, I dropped into a local estate agent, the only one still open at 6pm, and begged an old signboard. They gave me two. I’m going to clean up the plain white back of one, cut it in half, stick the poster to that and prop it up somewhere against a suitable wall.

The second board is a perfect bonus - time I put a notice out front advertising my psychic readings and Reiki treatments. I needed a suitable notice-board for that. Now I’ve got one!

And I’ve just discovered that one of my favourite movies, “Charade”, starring Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant, is showing on ABC2 this Saturday night.
