Aww, this is so cute! Bob, Ray and Frank as auto mechanics!
I love all the details of Frank's crush - his ineffectual flirting (knowing he's making a fool of himself but can't help it~!), Ray's physical effect on him ("Ray laughs at him for it, eyes crinkling at the corners, and rubs his thumb across Frank's cheek when Frank is trying to figure out where to wipe it away. It's totally casual, a perfectly innocent gesture that could come from anyone, just enough to point out where he should be wiping. Frank's skin feels like it's buzzing afterwards, though, a sweep of heat following Ray's touch." and "Frank is keenly aware of how much bigger than him Ray really is. For a few moments he just stands there uselessly, imagination going crazy. He breathes in the distinct, slightly chemical smell that's coming off of Ray because he's been getting so close to the engines.") and just generally obsessing over him. <3
I also like how Mikey is portrayed here, dorky and awkwardly suave and just very Mikey. Of *course* he'd succeed in orchestrating that threesome! I'm a bit surprised that there's no Pete dialogue in the story, but I like the image of him and Frank grinning at each other in the mosh pit.
Thank you so much for writing this! Don't worry about the lateness, I'm just happy you wrote me a story. :D
