Hello, everyone - I'm your new Radio Operations officer, Sublieutenant Medusa Gorgon. But...just call me Medusa, okay? I don't really like all that rank formality and officer/enlisted tension. I'm sure as long as we all get along, everything will be just fine!

Um...what was I...oh! That's right. I just wanted to say hello - there's a chance I might have to do ship announcements and other things like that, so I wanted to make sure people wouldn't go "hey, who is that person?" and maybe not follow orders because they don't recognize me, because that'd be bad!
If anyone needs me, I'll be in the radio room a lot of the time. I'm always happy to talk to people if they come by, though. If something's bothering you, I'm sure some friendly conversation and warm herbal tea will turn that around, and it feels just so wonderful to help out my friends - I used to do it all the time back in the academy. I think that's why they suggested radio operations - I liked interpersonal communications so much that they figured I'd do just with intership communications!
I wonder why they didn't train me to be a doctor, though...I think it might have been because I favored the herbal remedies and other things I learned growing up over pills and surgery and things. Oh well - everyone has their preferences!
