for the last 3ish years my legs have never turned colors. i mean, my face sunburns and my arms tan and my shoulders do both and my chest tans. but my legs havn't done anything, no matter how much sun they seemed to be exposed to. today, however, after sewing outside in direct sunlight for an hour they are sunburnt. the skin red and real. i have real legs. real skin. really!!!
made worse my scraping my legs on the concret while i was planting baby aloe vera plants in new pots from the big pot that had babies. does anyone want some aloe vera babies?? you have to come to texas to get them... we have worms, too, you know. and wormwood. other things worth coming down here for. sunshine and shit.
some other things of note:
my sister leaves for mexico tomorrow
i played dance dance revolution for an hour straight
my legs hurt from that and the sunburn
they put shrimp oin our spring rolls instead of tofu and i feel weird
but i like shrimp
i guess.
the war with the fleas has been waged, there's no turning back this far into summer
i drank most of a bottle of apple cider stuff.
at dinner Cedar told us that in vancouver left shoes, generally men's size 12, sometimes with feet still in them, are washing up on the shores of one of the islands.
then she told us that young college boys are disapearring and being found drowned several days later all across the country. in all cases the deaths seemed accidental, but had some key pieces of evidence that suggested foul play, and a smiley face grafiti close to where the student would have entered the water. more than 40 drownings around the country seemed linked by this, atheletic, college men with blond hair, no history of depression, but a history of drinking a lot, leaving a party or bar never to be seen again, alive anyway. after doing my own research i think there's a 50/50 chance the "investigators" who discovered this (retired cops) are a little more than paranoid, but either way it's fascinating and scary. fascinating not just because of the details, the smiley faces, but because it would be the first time i've (me personally) ever heard a serial killer (they think multiple serial killers) targeting only men.
i am actually interested in serial killers (mostly the girl kind) and there is one i know of who mostly killed men-her lovers- but also killed the women they cheated on her with. i am sure there are serial killers who only killed men but i haven't read about them...
i did however spend the last 2 hours reading about men who raped and murdered well over a hundred children and i don't think i can go to sleep. nor do i want to.
more apple cider stuff is needed.
