The willling acceptance of complexity
Started watching Veronica Mars this weekend, I'm about halfway through season 1. I was just watching an episode and recognized the guy who played Ethan Crane on Passions, I used to love that show.
The reason, I guess, like Jerry Springer or any other show I was into at the time was that there was always a twist coming and it didn't matter how unreal the new element might seem, I was along for the ride.
As long as the writers or actors or whoever was running the show gave at least a half-assed attempt to tie it all together, I was more than willing to nod my head and say, "Yeah, I guess that would explain it."
It's too bad our government doesn't care enough any more to lie to us convincingly. The degree of graft an manipulation just seems to be getting greedier and lazier by the day.
