I fell into Fallout 3 for about 2 months
Been a while since I wrote anything here (or anywhere else) and I really want to get back into a habit of writing. This usually means I'll be forcibly posting several paragraphs at a time that even I don't give much of a crap about, but bear with me (or skip over until you see a post about sex, death or drama) and eventually I'll have something interesting to report.
Short list of stuff I've been watching/playing/listening to:
Movie - Zatoichi; Shintaro Katsu plays a blind swordsmen/masseuse in late Shogunate Japan. Utterly awesome
TV series - Maverick seasons 1 & 2; James Garner and Jack Kelly play gambling, gunfighting brothers in the old American West.
Video Game - Fallout 3; Bethesda Software's expansion on the Interplay/Black Isle Post-Nuclear RPG. Mutants, robots, radiation and wasteland madmen abound in this open sandbox FPS RPG from the people who gave us the Elder Scrolls series. 4.5 out of 5 snakeoil stars.
Movie - Red Beard; Toshiro Mifune and Akira Kurosawa's final project together. Mifune stars as Doctor/Hero "Red Beard" who takes on a troubled yet talented young intern and teaches him the way of Badass Country Doctoring (this may be where they got the plot for Doc Hollywood). Old School awesome scene, Mifune takes on like 20 pimps at a brothel and delivers a bare-fisted ass beating to the crowd of thugs. 5 out of 5 Samurai_Stars.
