Air Bud in ... World's Strongest Dog!
All right ... so I'm watching these steroid-jacked Swedish Ubermensch(es) bench pressing refrigerators and beer kegs on ESPN??? (possibly "The Ocho") when the latest Air Bud spoof comes to mind.
Air Bud in ... World's Strongest Dog!
Brief aside: I have never seen an Air Bud movie, but I absolutely hate them from the ads alone that I have been forced to endure. The only way to get me to sit through one would have to involve the set up from Clockwork Orange using a straitjacket and eye prongs. Although I really can't say whether or not the series is any worse than anything I'd grown up watching, I'll continue to "dog" it anyway.
And so, I make up parody episodes.
Concept: Air Bud enters the World's Strongest Man Competition.
It doesn't really matter why ... maybe there's a kid dying of cancer or the family home is about to be repossessed by the bank.
Following a brief introduction to set the scene and characters, Bud has to compete and gets into shape using a montage sequence which leads to the transformation.
Scrawny Golden Retriever becomes a rippling mass of muscle and sinew.
How? (... this is the best part)
We shave Bud and glue his coat onto a 300 pound Rottweiler!
Instant movie magic and no less believable than any of the stuff that happens in the rest of the series!!
I don't care what happens in the story after that. Shaving the dog and gluing his hair to a canine behemoth is really where the sweet, sweet payoff lies.
Let that image roll around in your head for a while.
