Cristina's Adventures in Voice Acting, pt. 1
I've gotten a lot of messages from people through YouTube and other means asking me if I could write a little about my experience in voice acting. I never felt that I'm a person people should turn to for advice, I mean, I'm barely starting out myself. I guess I can share a bit about my journey, and I think that such a topic might be an awesome theme for this journal. Rather than starting from the beginning, I'll start from where I am today.
I guess you can say I'm in a bit of a slump right now. I don't have any upcoming jobs, I haven't been able to record a song or fandub for YouTube in quite a while, and even though I've recently acquired an agent, I have not heard from him since the day after he got me my first batch of auditions. Half a year ago, I was in the studio almost everyday. That's show biz I guess. I try not to let it get me down, but Cristina is Cristina, and it doesn't take much for me become discouraged. But I know things will pick up again.
Aika R-16 is being released on DVD this week. I play the lead character, Aika, and the cast includes Tara Platt, Sam Reigal, and fellow newcomers Kira Buckland, Michelle Ann Sullivan, Laura Post, and Jennifer Alyx- all of whom I've met online years before we landed our first professional jobs. I have to say, I am really happy with the finished production :). If you get a chance to watch it, please let me know what you think.
That's all I can manage to type for tonight, it's already pretty late, and I'm not used to this whole blogging thing. I hope I can be more interesting and helpful in the coming weeks. :D
