October flew by. Lies got a job, and managed to get a year contract with OGD, and my own talk with OGD led to a nicer paycheck. So with that behind me I've been hard at work in seeing what I can still make of this year in terms of house-stuff. And in the meantime I have been enjoying more financial breathing room.
Omen, VA and Chronos lie behind me, and all were great fun. Omen was the usual classic awesomeness, Va was a lot of familiar faces and an old coat slipped on. Chronos had its first event and had its logistical difficulties, but in the end its prep came through and we saw a hectic but solid first event with CMXCI. The team looked awesome and functioned great despite unexpected events, the weather and the unfamiliar terrain and that is something we can build on. We made the right decision in starting with the basics and building on that, and I hope to have more 'off-duty' time in the next installment to socialize with my fellow colonists.
My health hasn't been doing the greatest, mainly due to some irregular stuff at work, but I have taken steps to correct that and that should be fine. I have to be careful not to overtax my planning senses and take it one step at a time. November and December will see me taking easier and I am making sure that I have plenty of space to plan. Don't know yet if I want to celebrate my bday as there is a Yoshida weekend on the date itself, and personally the idea of spending my birthday larping seems right.
This coming month will see some one-offs and single day things such as the Musical-larp and the last Unity. We had a good talk with Martijn to determine our course for our 'Last Stand', and I am determined to make it one for the books. There will be the five of us which is a bitter pill to swallow, but we shall take up arms one last time for the Emperor.
Other then that, I plan to spend November 'soft and fluffy' with family, friends and feeling nice and warm. It is been a tough year and I am still mitigating much of the nastiness, so step by step towards the light in the dark days of December.
