This is flawless. Every scene. Every word. Best post-IMTOD/ELaC I've read. A total picture of their lives, then to now, against the backdrop of Pastor Jim. I love fics that explore a deeper relationship between Jim and Sam. That show an influence of faith in Sam's life as well. (Even as they make me even sadder that Jim meant such an untimely end . . . so much unexplored territory). Can't sing enough praise to you for the way you write. And can't quite catch my breath from the punch this hit me with. Will definitely be reading more than once.

Thank you so, so much for reading and commenting, and for saying such wonderfully nice things! I was really, really nervous about posting this--first fic in a new-to-me fandom. I'm so glad you liked the way I played Jim and Sam's relationship. I'm seriously in mourning that we didn't get to see more of him on the show. Oh, wel, fill-in-the-blanks is fun, too.

You did a good job changing the chars according to their age. The whole thing was a nice visit. Who doesn't love Pastor Jim?

Aww, I really like this. Since they robbed us of getting to know Jim in canon, I love the snippits focusing on his relationship with Sam - and in turn, Sam's relationships with his family. Lovely fic. :)

I'm so glad you liked it! And really, really happy that you liked how I played Jim and Sam's relationship and how it affects the Winchester dynamic. I'm pretty miffed with Kripke & Co. for killing off characters with so much interesting potential. I'm now officially afraid of them bringing back Missouri and Bobby (assuming they do, I'm spoiler free) because I worry they'll go the way of Jim and Caleb.

Still getting used to LJ and it ate my comment... grr.

I loved this take on Sam and Jim's relationship! I wondered how Sam made it as far as he did with just Dean, (who is wonderful) but there had to be some adult helping him along the way. I love his perfect mentoring and assistance as he grew. The College application part was just fantastic. How else would Sam have done that? Brilliant! Every little seed was sown beautifully! So glad you wrote this piece!

I'm so glad you liked my Jim. I kinda love him now, too. And, yeah, John and Sam hurt me hourly, on the show and in my own brain. They're both so stubborn :-(
