Trip

This past Friday after work I drove down to Columbus to spend some time with Katie.  What is it about long drives with good, loud music and coffee on a humid spring evening that makes me feel wonderfully strange (but in an orange sense, of course)?  After about two and a half hours, I arrived at her apartment and we just lazed about for a bit while talking and looking through old photographs, her customised Pandora station only adding to our blissful albeit temporary visit to once-upon-a-time.  A little while later, we went to the grocery store to get hummus and dinner ingredients and some New Castle - at first I had a taste for some wine, but we both decided that beer would be the better choice (as it usually is).  The rest of the night was spent catching up, drinking, eating, and venting.  Much needed and wonderful indeed.

Most of Saturday involved lots of black coffee and hanging out at her place until we went out for a post-rapture Mexican dinner at this place called El Vaquero (by the way, I am definitely going to have to eat there again).  Before we ate, though, she took me on a driving tour of campus and her old haunts and dwellings.  We drove down High Street toward Clintonville, in which I saw the many places that Sean and I went on our short day trip to Columbus on New Years Eve.   When we got back to Katie's, we watched an episode of The Office (but only after sitting through this wretched anime show Alan was watching, which Katie and I mocked mostly with smirks and giggles).  It didn't take long for me to fall asleep after that.  I headed home the next morning and then went for a banana-berry ice cream that evening with Sean and his family after I did some things around the apartment and took another shower - the journey home left me quite sweaty and warm, but I shall not complain.  It's SUMMER!  Well, almost.
