Work:
Left the barista-server position in June due to low pay. Joined a company that organises international subject olympiads for three months, then left due to working conditions. Started part-time tuition at a tuition centre in late October till present. I realised that serving others is something I want to do as a career, on top of being on my feet for a bit. Hopefully it all works out in the end.
Songs of special mention:
Chainsmokers feat. Kelsea Ballerini - This Feeling
Movie of the year for me:
Watched a few but nothing really stood out this year.
Toys:
Reigned in my toy purchases by a lot due to low income, but developed my interest in beach balls once again.
Family and Health:
Dad is still doing his thing. Mum stopped working but managed to keep herself busy with stuff. Brother is officially divorced. Niece stays with her mum now. I suspect I might have developed some mental issues due to the stress from the different jobs, but it is still manageable for now.
Travel:
Canada, Petaling Jaya
Furry:
Little Island Furcon 2019 happened. Served on the Board as vice-chairman, on top of other duties such as secretary, programming of panels, managing the volunteering team and logistics. Completely overwhelmed by the number of furries who just turned up. Glad to see everyone had fun.
Went to Furum and I had fun, even though I did not have any expectations for the con. It was good to see the con grow to what it is today and of course, it was good to see everyone again. I just need to remind myself to be more conscious of saying hi to people, so as not to appear as a snob. Then, there is that odd assumption that I am still doing security for the con. Haha
Other small events, included small impromptu suiting opportunity at church in Mik and not having a Halloween walk this year.
What was new in 2019:
New local con. Seeing snow without being deathly cold. Flying business class for the second time to a country I have never been to before. Uploading an airline review vlog on YouTube. 2 jobs. A whole lot of insight to management, both acting as one and being under a couple of those from the jobs. New insight to the tuition industry in Singapore. Sandals, work shoes, CPU, travelling from Seletar airport, visiting Jewel in fursuit.
In general, 2019 was an okay year. I think I accomplished enough things that were memorable to me. Finances are still tight, and had to draw on my reserves some too. I’m still spending time with him and getting to know him more.
Hopes for 2020:
Landing a full time job. More decluttering of my room.
