Oh, the Myra1 Love to the Myra! I don't think you're a theater SNOB, exactly, perhaps a connoisouer (I can't spell french words). I'm sure it was a great play in terms of the issues it dealt with, but because you are educated in the ways of theater, you can see the more technical flaws of the crafting or whatever. Other people are just ignorant, always will be, and you'll just have to deal with them. I have the same thing with theater, also belly dance, and my way of dealing is to point out the positive, and say how great I think it is that people are into it and trying to express themselves, blah blah blah, but point out that there is a different level of the artform, a very high level that involves a lot of devotion and study, and that I appreciate that a bit more.
And well, you know, boys are stupid, and, well, they just are. Which reminds me that AJ, the guy I had a crush on this summer, came into Il Vicino a few weeks ago. I handled the conversation pretty well, but my face felt really hot the whole time, so I'm sure I was bright red. And when I told him about my grad school plans and said "so, hopefully that'll work out for me" he said "I'm sure it will" and gave me this smile that made me want to smack him for being such a confusing boy. Anyway, yes, stupid...
