The Virtuous Consumer by Leslie Garrett      [definitely a beginners guide--though I learned a bit]
New Moon by Stephenie Meyer                  [parts were superfluous, but in general I liked.  I liked the J/B/E dynamic]
Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer                        [seriously, book!crack; I want a Jasper/Alice story]
Through Painted Deserts by Donald Miller      [love it; want to hike Grand Canyon now; thoughts require post]
Atonement by Ian McEwan                         [a beautiful book and a brilliant story--bought it]
Accidentally on Purpose by Mary Pols     [liked it--personality-wise I saw myself]
Cool Names for Babies by Satran & Rosenkrantz    [people name their kids some weird stuff]
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou     [I loved her story; it was beautiful & heartbreaking...]
Lost in Austen by Emma Campbell Webster      [all right in an Austen lover way]
The Brief History of the Dead by Kevin Brockmeier      [rather brilliant, really]

August
Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer       [most strongly written of series; though parts contrived; liked it a lot]
The Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy Fowler   [While good, it's one I actually preferred the movie]
The Better World Handbook by Jones, Haenfler, & Johnson   [some pretty interesting stuff; some to skim]
Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy by Geralyn Lucas         [pretty good but repetitive]
The Irreversible Decline of Eddie Socket by John Weir            [okay premise, mediocre deliver, better once Eulene entered]
Brokeback Mountain by Annie Proulx                          [I really liked it, and I rarely like short stories]
The Half-Skinned Steer also by Annie Proulx            [this one I didn't like; no character connect at all]

Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris                   [loved it--shall read more from Sedaris]
The Wanting Seed by Anthony Burgess                       [a bit slow going storyline-wise]

A Clear and Present Word by Mark D. Thompson     [the first chapter was spectacularly slow; pretty good otherwise]
Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote                     [Holly Golightly is an amazing character; and bird imagery! yes]
Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish Their Adoptive Parents Knew by Sherrie Eldridge      [pretty eye opening]
Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyers (what's out there of it)   [I much prefer Edward's eyes to Bella's]

Penelope by Marilyn McKay                                          [one of those rare moments when the movie is better]
Lord, Save Us from Your Followers by Dan Merchant    [me gusta; though not growth inspiring as I agreed with him]
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne     [very good, especially for being written in a child's voice]
Harry, A History by Melissa Anelli                             [hard to believe Harry is really over]
