I have an outbreak of shingles. At least I guess that's the right word for it. A strange rash appeared at the back of my neck, and then on my right shoulder, and then in a spot or two on my right arm...at which point I decided it wasn't poison ivy or some contact allergy or somesuch and went to the doctor. Shingles. Right then. Stupid chicken pox virus popping back up to annoy me. Needless to say, this was not in my plans.
On the bright side, the library is closed for two weeks for RFID conversion, and while the rash is contagious, I'm not...exactly. I mean, anyone who hasn't had chicken pox or who is pregnant shouldn't touch the rash, but people shouldn't be sticking their hands in my shirt at work, so I think we're all safe there.
It kind of itches and my shoulder and upper arm are a little sore, but it sure doesn't seem that bad compared to the way the websites make shingles sound. It's just kind of annoying.
