Tired of all of those surveys made up by high school kids?! 'Have you ever kissed someone? Missed someone? Told someone you loved them? Drank alcohol?' 38 questions for the people who are a little older...
1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
I don't mind paying my bills. They're all either necessities (rent, electric, phone) or chosen expences (internet, cable).
2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
I've never had a romantic dinner. I don't know if I want to have one, ever, since I don't know if I want romance. (And I hate dressing up.)
3. What do you really want to be doing right now?
Drinking a coke. But I'm out. Damn stupid caffiene addiction.
4. How many colleges did you attend?
Six. I think. And I have an AA in general studies to show for it. :D
5. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
It reminded me of one I had as a kid. (If you mean when I bought it.) I felt like wearing it today. (If you mean when I put it on this morning.)
6. What are your thoughts on gas prices?
Yet another reason to really like walking to work.
7. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
Five more minutes. Just five more minutes.
8. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
I don't know. I usually daydream until I fall asleep.
9. Do you miss being a child?
I miss being able to play outside with friends. I think that's more of a comment on my current friends, though.
10. What errand/chore do you despise?
I hate to vacuum. It doesn't help that my cat, Max, is terrified of the vacuum, but I've never been all that fond of lugging one around.
11. Get up early or sleep in?
I'd prefer sleeping in, but I'm trying to convince myself that getting up early is wonderful.
12. Have you found real love yet?
I love my parents. I love my cat. I love my friends. I love their cats (and rats and other pets). That will just have to do.
13. Favorite lunch meat?
Does tuna count?
14. What do you get every time you go into Wal-Mart?
I don't like Wal-Mart, so I don't shop there.
15. Beach or lake?
Lake. Preferably a mountain lake. Though the coast is nice too.
16. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
That depends on the marriage.
17. Sopranos or Desperate Housewives?
I'll give you the secret code, just please, please, don't play either of them, I beg of you!
18.What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
I'm having trouble thinking of a famous person who's important to me...and isn't dead. Um...George Lucas? Gordon Lightfoot? Rachel Maddow?
19. Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
I ran over a street sign when I was delivering newspapers when I was 21. I hit a pot hole and found myself buried in papers just long enough to fail to correct from the pot hole, jump a curb, and flatten the sign. The very nice motorcycle policeman (who was a motorcycle cop because he kept locking his keys in the squad car) wrote me a ticket for failure to control my vehicle and recommended traffic school to make it go away. So I went to traffic school. And it went away. And I haven't run over a single street sign since.
20. Ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
No. Nor have I ever used one for any other purpose. *looks at the question with some concern* What do other people do with fire extinguishers? O_o
21. Ring tone?
The theme from Knight Rider. Or, if it's a text message, the James Bond theme. (They didn't have any of the TV shows or movies I like better. *sigh*)
22. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
Um, I've pretty much just brushed them in bathrooms. Possibly only in bathrooms.
23. Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?
I'm not sure if I've been to California. How about...wherever it is my friends in California live. Someday...
23. Do you go to church?
No. I've considered joining the local Unitarian church to try and meet people, though.
24. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
I think I did just start a new career. I could use some new relationships, though. I'm kind of short on non-on-line friends.
25. How old are you?
Thirty-five. Which is completely impossible, since I'm not sure I feel twenty-five. I mean, shouldn't I feel like an adult and stuff?
26. Do you have a go to person?
I think I'm more often other people's go to person. My mom, I suppose, is mine.
27. Are you where you want to be in life?
Let's see, I live in a neat old building in walking distance of all kinds of stuff (even, marginally, a grocery store - if a couple miles counts). I can walk to work - at a library. I live in Colorado. I just need more people to do stuff with and to get back to writing and I could answer that, wholeheartedly, with YES! But, until those conditions are met, I guess I have to go with MOSTLY!
28. Growing up, what were your favorite cartoons?
Darkwing Duck, Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers, Tale Spin... Ducktales and Tiny Toon Adventures were all right. (Yes, I know I was a teenager when those were on the air. So what. :P)
29. What about you do you think has changed the most?
Since when?
30. Looking back at high school were they the best years of your life?
Ahahahahahahahahah! Haahahahahaha! *giggle snort sporfle* WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
You were serious? ... Seriously serious? Um...let's go with NO.
32. Did you ever own troll dolls?
No. And those are seriously creepy. Not as creepy as Cabbage Patch Kids or that weird talking bear that eats people's souls, but still creepy.
33. Did you have a pager?
Yes. When I moved to Prescott, I discovered that I couldn't get a job without a phone number, a phone number without a place to live, and a place to live without a job. The only sensible solution was to get a pager.
34. Where was the hang out spot when you were a teenager?
I don't know. I was even more of a social falure then than I am now.
35. Were you the type of kid you would want your children to hang out with?
Sure.
36.Who do you think impacted your life the most?
My parents. Though whether they come before or after various fictional characters, I'm not sure.
37. Was there a teacher or authority figure that stood out for you?
Mr. Amundsen, my fifth and sixth grade science teacher and fifth grade reading teacher. He was, by far, the best teacher I had in 5-10 (K-12, or what I had of it). He genuinely loved science, books, kids, and teaching. He was the only teacher I had who I went out of my way to go back and say "hi" to years later. Mr. A was what teachers should be. He had a great sense of humor, he got the genuine respect of his students, he was good at the actual teaching stuff, he knew his subjects, and his students liked him.
38. Do you tell stories that start with “when I was your age..."?
No.
