It finally feels like i'm starting to see some clarity in this chaotic mess I call my life.
It's been difficult moving up here. I've experienced a lot. I've made some stupid mistakes, done some stupid things, but I've learned a lot from them.
And honestly, I can only describe what I am doing right now, as "discovering"
I've started to explore myself.
What makes me, "Me"?
And i've discovered, that it's my passion for things I love.
If my heart feels something, I pursue it.
I've found the best way to do this, is through my love of music.
I love writing songs. There's something beautiful to me about music. It can empower large groups of people to demand something from their oppressors, it can cause masses of people to tear down walls for their beliefs. It can cause war, it can stop war. It can break a heart, or it can make a heart.
Songwriting is one of the things that connects everyone, I think.
And I feel like i've progressed so much as a musician since I moved up here. I'm finally starting to put things together, and get them to sound the way I want.
I guess what's got me thinking so much about creativity, is this movie I just watched...it's called "Across The Universe". I have never been so awe-struck by a piece of cinematography before. It is hands down one of the most amazing displays of art I have ever seen, and I have a new found appreciation for the beatles, and what they did with their art and creativity. I have listened to every one of those songs, a million times; and I couldn't relate until I saw this movie. It's emotionally powerful stuff.
Anyways, I intend to pursue my dreams.
It feels like i've been laying down too long,
waiting for something to happen. Like maybe if I just wait it out, things will all fall into place, and i'll know what I should do, when what I really need, is to just do it. And stop waiting for someone else to tell me it's ok.
I'll move someone emotionally with my music,
I'll sing a song to someone because they need someone to sing to them
