hi guys! after getting a few complaints, i finally decided it was time to update...
i think the last time i updated was when my aunt was moving in with us. well...she's still here, and it's been interesting to say the least. 'nuff said.
marshalls controls my life still and i'm actually gonna miss working there. *gasp* not because i love searching for mismates, enjoy rude, messy customers and coming home with a pocket full of size nubs. i love the people i work with (exluding a certain service desker and some obnoxious high school kids) though, so it'll be sad leaving. hopefully i'm not ink tagging all the leather jackets and pushing 12 thousand different kinds of socks out my whole life, though.
last night i went to tanglewood. admittedly, i was a dork about it too. i wanted to go because i wrote a huge ass paper on a brahms symphony that was going to be performed. so not only did i email my professor telling him about it, i damn well brought my score to follow along with. it was probably the most disgusting day weather-wise though. i worked until two, and immediately scouted out for a place to inspect my car (i know july 31st...a little desperate). the first place didn't take me i think solely on the fact that i looked so gross from the 90 degree weather and humidity. finally i found a guy to look at it 20 minutes before i was leaving for tanglewood. granted he failed me for a muffler, and plastered a scarlett letter R on my windshield, but things got worse- because nomar was traded to the freakin cubs. now i'm not a huge nomar fan, but i know a signature boston icon when i see one. he can't play for the cubs (though he's with toddy walks!!) because he practically has iconic status and an authentic boston lingo just by playing here from the very beginning. who is gonna say nomah? and will chicago ever play nomar no. 5 on the radio in the post-season? what about all the little kids he works with that own garciapparra jerseys?! no more jeter-nomar rivalries. ugh. it was a sad, sad day in boston (or a good one for those other fans out there...)
so anyway, tanglewood. we finally get there 3 hours later, pitch our flag into the dirt and mark our territory. and since i already know mother nature hates me, she brought along some nasty clouds and some thunder. this is a cool scenario when you pretty much are in a field with a few trees. hide under a tree? nope. perhaps my umbrella will protect me from the rain....no, bad plan again. well maybe i'll just stay out in the open field. screwed no matter what. chances are, someone else will get hit right? it could never happen to me.
but it cleared up. i think because mother nature likes schnittke. and who wouldn't? the loveable man known for his polystylistic idiom is nearly psychotic. mixing early classical with horrific modern 20th century and neo-baroque is surely a recipe for breeding a hybrid from hell. so i'm being dramatic, but the piece was weird. and who even knew schnittke existed?
but the sky was absolutely beautiful. i had a moment. granted, it was just between me and the moon, but i had one of those stoner moments that makes me miss my freshman roommate (the awesome one, not the stoner herself). the sky was dark and the moon was full. the clouds looked darker against the sky and they all surrounded the moon. there were whispy clouds guarding the moon to create a sort of golden warm glow. pretty.
so in 22 days i'll be back in worcester. who knows what this year will bring. everything seems up in the air with certain situations, but we'll see. i just hope it's a good year, and i'm so excited. hopefully me and casie's bed sheets won't clash, either. i'm all about room decorating (check out my new domestic end-cap!)
long enough, mooney??
