A SHORT WHILE AGO...

[Back before the main post happens, one of the two watches as yet another blue-haired boy walks by, leaning his chin on his hand.]

...Hey. Let me ask you something. [He abruptly sits up straighter, turning to the one beside him.]

Sure, go for it.

[ He's still kind of watching the people mill around though. There's something off about this place, but it looks kinda fun... ]

Let's say there's a girl. A girl in a pretty blue dress. She's absolutely crazy and has no manners at all, but a goddess loves her so she can do anything she wants. [He's making this up off the top of his head, so he doesn't care that it sounds a little strange.] What would you do if you met her?

[Pretend he doesn't already know your answer. It's more fun this way.]

I'd play with her! And talk and make conversation.

[ Because that kind of person makes the best conversation. ]

...Does the dress have anything to do with this?

Not really, it's just hard to think about her without picturing blue. [Nod, nod. He folds his hands in his lap now.] I'd like to do that too, but it seems like we've been invited to play while our pretty hostess is nowhere to be found. If we can't talk to her directly... how do you think we should get to know her?

[ It takes a few seconds of staring at Toshiki before it clicks on what he's talking about, accompanied by a small 'ooh'. ]

I say we take a look around. And maybe talk to some other guests, too.

Sounds like a good idea. [The one he already had in mind, in fact, but he likes these pointlessly roundabout conversations.] The other "guests" have probably known her longer than us.

[This boy stands up and stretches his arms a bit without any real need.]

Try not to scare any of them off. [Jokingly. He's already put on a smile as another person walks by.]

N'aw, us; scary? You, maybe, but I don't think we'd be scaring anyone off today.

[ A smaaall pause. ]

Unless you wanted to, that is.

I feel like I've said this a thousand times, but being too friendly is going to creep some people out, too. [He puts his hands in his pockets now.] Let's try to make a good first impression.

[It looks like they're going to be here for a while, after all.]

[waxingwarmth]

[ Oh. Right. Don't be too friendly, got it. ]

Alright, alright, not-too-friendly. Got it.

[ Sounds easy enough. Ryoji will just adjust his scarf a bit, then, since wonky scarves are a no-no in his books. ]

...Well, actually, this is pretty exciting. Being in a new place, and all.

...yeah, this is definitely new. [Usually, they invite themselves over instead of getting brought over.] It'll be interesting.

[He reaches over to tug at the other's scarf a bit himself. It's silly enough and you're not going to make it un-silly.]

[ No he likes his scarf stop pulling at it. Ryoji goes onto tugging the scarf back to how it was before, and not-wonky like. ]
