Just as a refresher of what's provided:
If you have a basic LJ account, you can post by SMS using these instructions.
If you have a Plus or Paid account, you can post by SMS using these instructions.
Plus and Paid account holders in the UK can also make voiceposts by calling 020 7100 1117 (enable voiceposting here).
