I really have to be careful so that my review doesn't end up being 10,500 words. I'm going to say straight off the bat that this is fantastic, and I couldn't have included everything I love in a story better if I'd written it myself.

I do remember that, in my story request, I asked for minute details, and you followed through spectacularly. I think Scorpius's snapshots were especially my favorite- the little things he notices about her, like how when she's upset with the outcome of a group project (and boy, do I know that feeling) she goes and approaches the teacher, and how she likes to use a Muggle pen, and Lydia balancing in her chair (she's a great character, by the way.) I was especially tickled by their chosen career paths and extra-curricular activities- I was the editor of my school paper and I enjoyed that detail. :)

And I don't know if you read the Adrienne Rich poem from which your inspiration quote came, but I felt like your piece kind of evoked the same feeling as the poem, which I *really* loved, though I can't really put my finger on why. I think it's the intense emotion of the parents- beautifully done, by the way. Draco is still Draco, but I think he's learned something and still values family, as I think his mother and father did (especially at the end of DH.) Hermione, too, seems like a responsible and involved parent, but still retains her essential bossy, passionate Hermione-ness. <3

And you included Hugo! When I saw that you remembered him, I nearly jumped up and down (except not, since I was sitting on my bed reading). What I especially love about the bit with him is that his manner is entirely different from your Rose- she's quite proper, and he seems pretty relaxed. Their exchange rang very true.

The argument at the end was my favorite- you're expecting a bit of fluff, and then Scorpius said this:

"Hey," he says sharply, standing. "Don’t get angry with me for answering a question that you asked," he says in a hard voice. "You asked the question, Rose. I gave you an honest reply. The second most important rule is don’t ask questions if you’re not prepared for the answer. You know that, so don’t get pissed at me."

Super fantastic. The whole bit about "Well, you hate lies" was just THE BEST way for him to say that- honestly, there was not a single step out of place here, and the 10,500 words just flew past me. Usually that many words in a fic feels like a slog, and this I wanted to never end. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, and I need to stop saying words before this review becomes a slog.

So much love for this, and you. Thank you, thank you, SUPER MUCH.

There's so much left I haven't gotten to say yet. When the authors get revealed, expect a giant internet hug. I mean, you'd get one now, but I'm not sure who to hug!
