Scorpius Malfoy's career meant he travelled a lot, and so Rose's relationship with him was one of long distance. He worked for Gringotts, something he'd always wanted to do and the travelling was just a bonus - he loved his job, even if his father didn't approve.
Rose had always known what he wanted to be and what it would entail, but she never really came to terms with the reality of what that meant until they were out of Hogwarts and it was in full swing. The time they did get to spend together was up and down; sometimes it was happy and romantic, and at other times they were angry at each other. Mostly Rose for she hated him being away for so long, especially since they were planning their wedding.
“Come on, dear,” Scorpius had said before he left this time. “Women never want their husbands to be involved in the planning. I'd just get in the way of your perfect day.”
“I want you involved and you wouldn't,” Rose protested, her arms folded and her eyes narrowed.
“You know I must be away for a couple of months, but I'll be back in time for the wedding and it will be perfect, I know you,” he said, a romantic tone in his voice that always made Rose squeal with excitement.
“Fine,” she gave in. “But I will be sending you letters regularly about what you think.”
“Yes, dear,” he sighed. “And besides, you'll have my mother and your mother there to help you.”
“My mother's really interfering, and well, don't get me started on yours.”
“Rose!”
“I'm sorry,” she stroked his arm. “I'm just angry that you're going to be gone again, so near to the wedding.”
“I know, I know...”
Scorpius left that afternoon, a smile on his face - as far as he could see, his life was perfect. He had a beautiful woman, a lovely family and he loved his job, which most people these days didn't. But he seemed to be oblivious to the fact that Rose hated his job - either that or he chose to ignore it. She was devastated every time he left, she felt insecure and lonely without him, needing him by her side to affirm his love for her.
The wedding was going to be featured in Witch Weekly, and so Rose had to make sure everything was perfect and down to a tee. She had decided on peach table cloths, for the wedding was set outdoors under a beautiful wedding arch in the Malfoy's back garden. Rose couldn't deny having them as in-laws paid off, and they seemed to like her, although Scorpius' father always seemed quite uncomfortable around her.
“The best for my son,” Astoria had said, smiling at Draco, who nodded in agreement. That was the day they had got both families together to tell them of their engagement.
Scorpius had proposed in such a wonderful way; they were on their annual trip to Italy and he had proposed in the moonlight on their balcony. Rose was thrilled, and of course said yes - it was one of the happiest times the two had had.
“Mother,” Rose had apparated to the Weasley residence to ask her mother's advice on wedding flowers. “Should I pick lilies or roses?”
Hermione smiled; she loved to be involved in whatever Rose did, and being able to help with her wedding was a dream come true. “Lilies, they're more elegant than roses.”
“What colour, though?”
“White,” Hermione took the samples out of Rose's full hands and showed her the white lily in the sunshine; it looked beautiful and would fit perfectly with their summer themed outdoor wedding.
“Thanks, Mum,” she had said before apparating back to her own home. The first thing she noticed was their family owl, Drecus, tapping on the window with a letter in his hand.
Eagerly awaiting a reply from Scorpius, she opened the window and tore the letter from the owl's beak, breaking it open and reading its contents. It was short, it only said Red Roses on it - Rose had owled Scorpius to ask about the flowers he wanted for the wedding.
“Men,” she said, talking to herself. “Always go for the obvious option.” The decision to stick with white lilies was firm, and Rose looked at her wedding list - she now had to decide whether or not to do favours for the guests.
“What the heck,” she thought. “The Malfoy's are paying,” and she picked out an expensive little box set; inside would be a heart and each guest would have their name engraved into it. It was beautiful, and Rose knew she would never be able to afford it herself. Besides, the press were going to be there and she had to impress them. Astoria wouldn't hear a word against it when Rose proposed the idea, saying it was one of genius and she wished she'd have had it at her wedding.
“Alas,” Astoria said, “For favours, we gave everyone a pink rose with a bow wrapped around it. Pleasing the guests at that point in time was not my priority,” she laughed.
Next on Rose's agenda was the invitations, and who would be getting one. She had decided against asking Scorpius' opinion as he usually just picked a random choice, and the wedding had to be co-ordinated and matching to look perfect.
Of course she'd be inviting her family and Scorpius' family, and the rest of the Weasley clan. She would also invite Scorpius' parents friends; the Parkinson's and the Zabini's. Then there was Teddy, she had to invite him, and along with him came his grandmother Andromeda, but that might upset the Malfoy's.
Rose had been told of the Malfoy/Black relationship, and how Andromeda had been cast out for marrying a muggleborn. Teddy's mother was a result of that relationship, and both of his parents had been killed in the Second Wizarding War, so he had grown up with his grandmother.
Bellatrix Black, the woman who swore never to talk to her sister again was dead, but Narcissa, well, maybe she would be pleased to see her sister after so many years of silence. Rose decided this was an issue she needed to discuss with Scorpius, and owled him her problem - she couldn't have any family arguments on her big day, but she didn't want to leave anyone out either.
Scorpius' letter this time was quite long, having both the pros and cons of inviting Andromeda, because of course Narcissa had to be there - she was the grandmother of the groom. In the end, Scorpius made the decision to invite her, after all, a family wedding could be what united the sisters again; Scorpius had also heard the tales of the Black sisters from when they were younger and how they used to get on so well.
With all the invitations written, and thankfully glad that Scorpius had been helpful for once, she turned to the next item she had to organise: the food. She knew who best to ask for this advice, her own grandmother, Molly Weasley, and she apparated straight to the burrow where they had lived all these years.
“Granny,” Rose called and Molly came running down the stairs.
“Oh, Rose, how lovely to see you!” Molly smothered her in kisses and hugged her tightly, how she did with any family member.
“You too, Gran,” she smiled and pulled away from the embrace. “Look, I wanted to ask you about the food arrangements for the wedding.”
“Of course, dear,” Molly escorted Rose into the nearest chair and got out her cooking book. “I suggest you have salmon as a main course, it's elegant and you wouldn't have to worry about any of the problems chicken would cause.”
“Scorpius doesn't like salmon though.”
“Right, well, you could have beef,” Molly suggested, flicking through the pages.
“That'll be good, he loves that.”
An hour later and Rose came out of the burrow with a full set menu on hand, happy that she had completed another task. It was now only a month to the wedding and she was panicking - she hadn't picked out her dress yet, or chosen her bridesmaids.
“Bridesmaids!” Rose got out her wedding book and started writing out ideas. She knew she'd have to have Lily Potter and Victoire Weasley, but she thought carefully about the third. After quite some time, she couldn't think of anyone she deemed appropriate to be up their with her, and settled for just having Lily and Victoire.
Rose knew that Albus Severus would be Scorpius' best man - they had hit it straight off at school, despite previous generations of their families hating eachother, and the friendship they had together was still strong and withstanding to this day.
Rose got out her check list and started ticking off things she had already done; venue, catering, bridesmaids, favours, flowers, invitations....what was missing? She thought long and hard, and then wrote the band and the reception on her notepad.
Organising the band would be a tough one; she and Scorpius had different tastes in music, but Rose remembered the offer Uncle George had made her, and decided to pick him as the DJ. If not anything else, he would provide a good laugh. Of course, he was nothing like he had been when he had his twin Fred by his side, or so everyone said that had known him - Rose sincerely wished she had, the many tales George told her of the antics they got up two had her in stitches every time, and even Scorpius' father managed to crack a smile at them.
So now the music was completed, she just had to organise the reception - and that would be held in the Malfoy's ballroom; it was grand and elegant.
“Perfect for a wedding, dear,” Astoria had said to her when Rose mentioned the reception. Truthfully, she wanted the wedding in a church, but that would to be too conventional and she knew Scorpius wouldn't like it either.
There were going to be about two hundred guests, and round tables with peach tablecloths, with her, Scorpius and their parents underneath the large chandelier. It would be beautiful, Rose knew that, but it wouldn't be quaint, though that doesn't really sell magazines. Elegance and the Malfoy name sells magazines - Rose knew that if she were to marry someone other than a Malfoy or a Potter, she would not get the publicity she was getting now.
One last thing she had to do was pick out her dress and her bridesmaids dresses. Rose wanted a traditional white dress with a long train and veil, and that's exactly what she got; she looked beautiful in it and it brought tears to her mothers eyes. Her bridesmaids would be wearing dark purple, to contrast with her own dress and make her stand out.
It was a week to the wedding, and Scorpius was coming back today - Rose was very happy, everything was planned accordingly and she hoped he would like it too.
He seemed pleased to see her, giving her a kiss on the cheek when he walked in, but he ignored her for the rest of the day, and whenever Rose gave him tea, or wanted to do something for her, he waved her away citing he had business to deal with.
Rose was hurt; their hen and stag nights were only in two days, and their wedding in a week. They couldn't not get on at this point, it was crucial to their development as a couple.
That night, Rose came onto him, but he rejected her, claiming of a headache. He had never had this before, he was always so eager, but now it was as though he couldn't even be bothered.
“Do you still find me attractive?” Rose asked, feeling very insecure.
“Of course I do,” he sighed.
“But you...”
“Can you just let me go to sleep?” he said, turning away from her.
That night was the first Rose had cried herself to sleep - things had never been as bad before and now it was as though he didn't even want to talk to her, let alone do anything else with her.
“I'm sorry, love,” were the first words out of Scorpius' mouth the next morning. “It's just stressful, you know?”
Rose smiled weakly at him and nodded. “Don't worry about it.”
A wide grin spread across his face. “Fancy some...?”
“I don't know -” Rose started to protest, but Scorpius jumped forward, kissing her all over and not letting have the chance to refuse. Rose giggled as he sucked her ear and worked his way down to her neck, the way he knew she liked.
After dancing around her mouth for what felt like ages to Rose, Scorpius finally kissed her, letting his tongue explore her mouth, as though it was the first time he had done it. As he kissed her, his wandering hands roamed her body, pulling up her nightdress and pulling her knickers down.
“Stop it,” Rose giggled half heartedly, playfully kicking him away.
“You know you want it,” he winked at her, his face following his hands as he kissed down her body; first around her collarbone and then her chest, stopping momentarily as he sucked each nipple, and then proceeded to kiss her tummy and around her belly button.
Slowly, taking in Rose's beauty, he pulled out his rock hard cock and moved up to her mouth, shoving it in fiercely. Scorpius knew she liked that; she had always been a cock lover and couldn't resist it when he gave her no option but to suck it.
Expertly she worked her tongue around his thick cock, licking around the sensitive head and getting it nice and wet for her cunt.
As though taking a toy from a child, Scorpius ripped his cock out from her mouth and, after lifting her legs upwards, pushed his cock into her cunt in one go; all Rose could do was moan in satisfaction and pleasure.
It didn't take long for Scorpius to come, the sight of Rose's body was enough to turn anyone on, and whilst leaning down and sucking her breasts, he came inside her, knowing she loved the feeling of that.
As he took himself off of Rose and leaned back on the bed, he only had one thing to say. “Ahh, we're good, aren't we?”
The night of their hen and stag do's came, but Scorpius seemed to see his night as a waste of time, and didn't really want to go on it. He complained all day, and Rose didn't know what to do or say - she was looking forward to hers with her girls. Or at least, she had, but Scorpius was putting her on a real downer. She started to think something must have happened on his business trip to change his mind about the wedding, or even her.
The night went without a hitch for Rose - she had a great time and refused the male stripper Lily had ordered for her; she felt it was cheating and didn't want another man all over her, or leering at her. Victoire had said she was mad, but Rose just laughed and downed another shot.
She got in late that night, and Scorpius wasn't in yet, so she went straight to bed, feeling intoxicated and tired, and fell straight to sleep.
When the morning time came, Scorpius still wasn't back, and Rose started to get worried, calling his parents to see if he was there, but he wasn't. She settled down for breakfast and was drinking tea when he stumbled in, dishevelled and in a drunken state.
“Have you been out all night?” queried Rose.
“Oh don't start, woman. We aren't even married yet,” he went straight upstairs, ignoring Rose's gasp of shock and selfishly climbing into bed.
Rose used the floo to go straight to the Potters.
“Ahh, Rose,” Aunt Ginny smiled at her. “Have a good time last night?”
Rose gave her a curt nod. “ALBUS SEVERUS POTTER! JAMES SIRIUS POTTER!” She screamed at the top of her voice.
“Dear, whatever is the matter?” Ginny had covered her ears during Rose's outburst. “What have they done now?”
The boys came running down the stairs, grins on their faces - until they saw Rose's frosty look. “What happened to him?”
“Who, Scorpius?”
“Yes, Scorpius!”
“Nothing, we dropped him off outside your place at around two last night,” protested James.
“Well he stumbled in a few minutes ago, looking dishevelled and still drunk,” she snapped, eyeing the boys suspiciously.
“There might be something you should know...” Albus started.
Rose folded her arms. “What?”
Albus sighed and look at the floor. “He got on well with the stripper, and there's a chance he arranged to meet her after. They hit it off and were talking quietly in the corner before we left.”
Rose gasped. “Why didn't you stop him?”
“It was his stag night, we didn't know you -”
“Oh use some common sense, idiots,” Rose was fuming and flooed back to her house, ready to accost him for his actions, but seeing him peacefully asleep, albeit still in his clothes, stopped her and she went downstairs, sighing as she did so.
Their wedding day came, finally, and Scorpius and Rose hadn't been getting on all week. Rose hadn't actually mentioned the stripper issue to him, fearing he would fly off the handle and go back and do it again. She put it to the back of her mind and tried to be as pleasant as possible, but whatever she did, he never seemed happy with her.
They had both stayed in Malfoy Manor the night before their wedding; Rose in the East Wing with the rest of the women and Scorpius in the West Wing with the men staying there.
“Come on, dear,” Astoria said, opening the curtains early next morning. “It's your wedding day!” she smiled happily, but Rose just felt worried - did she really want to spend the rest of her life with someone who wasn't even pleasant to her the week before their wedding?
“Thanks, Mrs Malfoy,” Rose said, getting herself out of bed.
“Oh call me Astoria - makes me feel all old otherwise,” she laughed and Rose smiled politely back.
“Rosie!” Hermione came running into the room, giving her daughter a hug before she had even made it two steps out of bed.
“Mum,” Rose wrapped her hands around her mother, glad to have her there, but wishing she could admit her worries to her.
“Now, don't worry if you're getting cold feet. We all do - I did when I married your father, but it was the best thing I ever did. I'm sure Astoria was the same,” Hermione looked to Astoria for confirmation, and Astoria nodded.
Victoire soon entered the room and did Rose's hair, and Lily sat in front of her and did her make-up, but her mother got the honour of helping her into her dress.
“You look beautiful,” Hermione had tears in her eyes.
Rose smiled. “Thanks.”
“So, time then!” Astoria said after checking her watch and looking out the window, seeing all the guests gathered and Scorpius and Albus at the top of the aisle.
As Rose walked down the aisle with her father, Ron, who was proudly giving away his daughter - even if it was to a Malfoy - Rose's music played and she felt in heaven. She snuck a glance at Scorpius, but he wasn't smiling at her like everyone else was. He looked more bored and wishing he wasn't there than happy, like he should be.
“Welcome, friends and family. We are gathered here today to celebrate the wedding of Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy and Rose Weasley,” the priest said as they both stood in front of him, preparing to get married.
Rose looked at Scorpius but he was looking off into the distance and the first part of the ceremony passed quietly - nobody objected to them marrying and both repeated the necessary vows, albeit Scorpius' voice was monotone.
“Rose Weasley, do you take the Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
She grinned, “I do.”
“And Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy, do you take the Rose Weasley to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
“I do,” he said in a very monotone voice, shocking Rose so much that she wasn't sure if he had agreed to the wedding.
“I now pronounce you Man and Wife,” the priest smiled. “You may now kiss the bride.”
With all the excitement of a giggle schoolgirl, Scorpius grabbed Rose's head passionately and locked lips with her, kissing her like there was no tomorrow.
“Are you okay?” Rose asked when he had finished, and received a smile from him.
“Yes, I just can't wait to get you out of that dress,” he winked and the two linked arms and walked back down the aisle together, ready to start their married life with hot, passionate sex.
