[Ami had been able to remain indoors during all of the trauma and slayings, a bit raddled by sounds and phone calls from the past week or so. With her nerve some how still in tact, it was now time for her to follow through on her mission.

[Ruri peers up from the water in the lake and waves slightly to Ami]

[Ami's still performing a few maneuvers when she catches some thing out of the corner of her eye.]

"A-Ah! Miss Hosino-san, how are you doing today?"

[hontobakabaka]

[She blinks and looks up]

"Ruri is fine. We're about the same age. I'm fine, I was just doing some data analysis."

[Uh oh! Ruri used the "D" word!]

"Data analysis? Oh! What kind of data are you collecting Miss.. Erm.. Ruri-san?"

[hontobakabaka]

[She points at her holographic computer panel hovering just above the water]

"A fair amount, right now I'm trying to scale up the map data I've collected."

"Map data? I take it you are trying to chart all of the locations in our town, yes?"

[hontobakabaka]

"Actually, I've been trying to find breaks in the looping properties of the town. Poking at the boundaries to see if any of them are weaker than others."

"How exactly are you going about doing this? That sounds rather complicated.. I suppose you've gained yourself a computer of some sort."

[Ami lets out a soft sigh, rubbing her forehead in thought.]

"What I wouldn't give for a few of my own books and my personal lap top back.."

[hontobakabaka]

"Yes. I've regained Omoikane. An experimental AI system that I link with. He used to be the battle cruiser on the Nadesico, but, he's also interfaced with MIT and several other systems. We've been mapping and testing."

[smrtrthenu]

".. My goodness. That's *ahem* quite a capable computer you have there!"

[Ami was still getting used to the impossible odds of Mayfield, so it took her a moment to believe what Ruri was saying was indeed true.]

"Anything that you need help with Miss Ruri? I'm not sure what use I could be, but perhaps in this situation, two heads are better than one?"

[hontobakabaka]

[She flicks over 3 holographic screens towards Ami, each with an impossible amount of code on it, the numbers are correct, but Ruri is trying to come up with logical math for Mayfield so they're useless]

"None of the numbers seem to mesh, but they seem correct, if you know anything about particle physics and want to look over my math..."

[Ami only holds her head down, turning a bit red from ear to ear.]

"I uhh.. I unfortunately do not know anything so complicated."

[hontobakabaka]

"Oh. How quickly do you learn? I don't think Omoikane would mind showing the base equations if... That sort of thing interests you. If it doesn't I understand, theoretical physics is kind of dry for a lot of people."
