you'll be pleased to know I've been on macs for about 10 months now. Hooked. Had an old creaky PPC powerbook (2004 model) till last month. Just upgraded to an (Intel) macbook pro - both work machines. I hook it up to a monitor/keyboard/mouse - hence need k/b.

I know. I was there for part of it. ;)

See, there's your problem. You hooked it up to keyboard and mouse when you just have to use the built-in one. :P
Just be happy you don't have to deal with my problem: I'm stuck with a Dutch-style keyboard MacBook (for work) that has keys placed in most horrible of locations! You can't even get a US-style Mac keyboard anywhere in this country. If I want one, I have to order it and ship it to myself. :( Fortunately though, the dollar is doing poorly against the euro, so I'll be fine. :)

Well, but I actually tried. But I can't see over the laptop screen if it's in front of me - the ergonomics don't work out. (you asked). I found myself wishing for a keyboard that had a touchpad integrated, and whatdyaknow such a thing exists! But the Adesso ones don't have very good reviews (not the ones in my budget, anyway). I'm picky about my keyboards, and dont want to buy one without trying it out first :-| I was hoping someone on my nerd-filled friends list had some experience.
Yes, I've experienced German kzbrds, and then thez made me tzpe like this. Thing is by the time someone from here visits you, you'll be used to the Dutch keyboards. So you should just buy yourself a personal Dutch macbook now :)
OK, this reads like a 3 page letter, so I stop now.
Why would you want that, I wonder...thathastuApril 3 2008, 23:31:22 UTC
With all the good things I read about Surface...one should just be able to write pseudocode/make a rough draft of ur next blog entry (may be even paint an entry?); and voila -- Surface automatically figures out what you meant, and does the right thing. ;)
Possible causes: 1. Your mouse is too small 2. Mac mouse settings suck for Microsoft mice. I have set the tracking speed to maximum and I still have to drag the mouse around to get anywhere.

2. Agreed - didn't realize it was a mac-microsoft thing though. Haven't tried other non-Microsoft mice...
PS: oooooh, look who's all into Mac stuff now :D
