Lent: when I give up sweets and N. gives up on our relationship...
Yes, really. She decided to give up ... me ... for lent, in the hope that a month-and-a-half by herself would give her some perspective on her apparent inability to commit to us. Whatever. At least, unlike last year, A) she has a specific, limited time frame in mind, and B) she's not planning to date someone else in the interim.
Still, if, come Easter, she hasn't found some perspective, I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't just write off the last 4+ years as a pleasant interlude in my otherwise-solitary life and begin to move on. I do "want her back", but I've had just about enough of this kind of drama... and it's anybody's guess how I'll feel in another month.
Fah.
On a related note, I realize it's short notice, but if anybody wants to go see Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro -- one of his finest comic operas -- this Saturday evening (in downtown GR, sorry A.), I happen to have an extra ticket...
