My sister is a professor of Spanish for a small university and she’ll be accompanying some of her students to Costa Rica for the month of January in 2013, and she’s invited me down to visit her. YAY!!!! Now I won’t be able to go for the whole month but I’m hoping to get a week off. I’ve never been to Costa Rica before and there’s so much of the country I’d love to visit. One place I’d love to stay is La Paz Peace Lodge. It’s about one hour from the San Jose International Airport. Not only do the rooms look amazing but they have a not-so-small nature park and wildlife refuge on property: Toucans, monkeys, butterfly garden, hummingbirds, tree frogs, pumas, poison dart frogs, snakes, sloths, just to name a few of the animals. Water features seem to be heavily themed throughout the property since the main attractions are the trails that lead to the magnificent natural waterfalls. Now staying on property to visit the waterfall gardens is not mandatory but the Peace Lodge looks like a once-in-a-lifetime kind of a place and I want to experience it all!!! Also they offer a few tours/activities as well, from visiting the Poas Volcano to a zipline canopy tour, which I hope I’ll also get to do! Here’s a promotional video I found on Youtube…Enjoy!
