I walk into work yesterday to CHAOS. I was supposed to train in a different area, so I'm not stuck as a god damn exam room technician, but what was supposed to be training turned into me running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Every doctor was booked solid with rooms, and there were discharges, everybody needed blood work that we had to run in the lab, or urine/fecals, ect etc. I was running into rooms, getting them set for the doctors, doing dishcarges, helping in the treatment area, and running labwork all at the same time. And on top of this, I was sick!

Then as the afternoon calmed down a bit(not very much though), I assisted the doctor and another tech with a dog that had come in from being hit by a car. The doctor removed the bandages from her feet, and on her one foot a major blood vessel had been cut and her bone was sticking through the skin. This dog was the nicest dog. all she did was flinch when her wound was exposed. I was quite disturbed, because that irritates me that people in arizona can't fucking drive. I am so sick of seeing animals dead in the road, or hearing about someone's cat/dog getting hit. Give me a break assholes! It's real easy, do NOT let your cats ouside. They do not belong there, because we have domesticated them to be indoors with us. As for dogs, well keep them from harm's way by *gasp* watching them. They're like little kids, you let them out of your sight, they fall into the pool and die. And as for driving, please...it is NOT normal to "accidently" hit an animal. If you do this, you are a shitty driver and should have your liscense revoked.

Anyways, to continue with the work saga, I had gotten really sick of everyone being a crabby bitch. The receptionists were snapping at the techs and vice versa, and the techs were snapping at each other even! How ridiculous is that to be rude to members of your team??! Hell, I've been there for 3 weeks, and *I* even got snapped at. For me, it was being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Seriously, being stressed out like that over dumb stuff is ridiculous. I mean, I'm a stress ball, but I know when to get stressed and when not to. And you don't do that shit at work. It's called SELF CONTROL. Wow, what a concept!

So at the end of the night, you could well imagine that I was ready to get the fuck out of there. Well, that didn't happen. A dog came in that couldn't walk, and was having issues. Well at 10pm(when we're supposed to be closed), the doctor asks us to run labwork and x-rays. Shortly thereafter, she discovers the dog had a tumor and was bleeding out internally. So we give him as many fluids as we could, and he gets rushed off to the e.r. I didn't get out of the damn place until 11pm. I don't mind staying, but when you're sicker than a dog, it's a real bitch! I hope to god today goes by much more smooth, and everyone gets their shit together...
